I can't for the life of me figure out why this movie is considered such a classic
I love the movie, but I think a huge part of it is because I grew up near chicago, and was practically raised on music/musicians from that movie. you have to have a great appretiation for the music of the movie to enjoy it.

edit:
-"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
-"Hit it."

Only part that even got me to chuckle a little was the swat like guys going "hut, hut, hut!!" Just found that funny for some reason.

However, feel free to complain about Blues Brothers 2000.

Good music, action (how many POLICE cars were destroyed?), decent acting, hilarious comedy...what modern picture can compare? The POOP coming out of Hollywood these days just cannot hold a candle obviously.

Blue Brothers 4 Ever! :)

Is the Blues Brothers 2000 just as bad?

Whoever wrote that recycled burning flaming E. Coli infected piece of rotting monkey vomit should have their balls ripped off by Loretta Bobbit and burned so they can never reproduce. after which, their arms should be bitten by rattlesnakes so they get all gangrene and have to be amputated so they can never write again. Upon their death, they should have their soul stripped and eaten by Shang Tsung and then have their lifeless body cut to pieces ans scattered in various volcanic locations across the globe so that they will come back reincarnated to write Snakes on a Plane II: Amazon Airbus.
