BloodBorne - Might be the game that make me buy a PS4

Yeah, when I first went down there I thought I had been invaded due to how the AI on those hunters acted. It's worth going through that area though.
You mean there is something past that? To me it looked like a dead end place. I hear hat if I beat the boss first then go through the cave to the wooded area the enemies will be harder.

Anyone know where I'm suppose to go after blood borne beast? I opened up both shortcuts through the cathedral ward area. Avoided the death reapers and magic guy that steals insight. I also found a cave that leads to some wooden area but I wasn't sure if I was suppose to be there.

Made it to two huge double doors with guys that are wielding crosses. Not sure where I'm suppose to be.

There's a boss past the huge double doors w/ the guys wielding crosses, and beating it will give you a cut scene that unlocks the Forbidden Woods area.

Before that, though, you probably want to consider taking out the boss in Hemwick Charnel Lane. Totally easy boss, and needed to unlock the ability to use runes.
- To get to Hemwick Carnel Lane, just go up to the big double doors where the cross wielding guys are, and then go left, down the stairs, then through the little cave tunnel.

Yup got it, I just wasn't sure if that was where I should be. I think that boss is the witch. Hopefully its not so bad.

I guess I'll just stop being vague. Yeah, you're right it's the Witch. When I fought her (actually it's 2 witches), it was pretty easy... I just used a hunter torch to light up a bigger area around me, and they were easy to find during the fight. Their summons are pretty weak too...

That's why it might be a good idea to just get that one done real quick before going on to Amelia. She's wasn't quite as much of a push-over to me (I never did figure out her attack patterns), but still not that bad. There's an item you can use to interrupt her heal. Some healing reduction thrown potion thing or something. I don't know, I didn't use it. The item I used was Ludwig's Holy Blade R2 backstab, haha.

Guess that is where I'm headed next. I'm still using my threaded cane the most. I need one more twin shard to fortify it some more. I haven't even upgraded my saw spear past one upgrade and I haven't purchased any new weapons either. I've got some decent bloodgems though which I do take advantage of.

Wish I could have some better clothes. I haven't switched out of the set I found in the sewer and I accidentally sold the father g clothes without realizing they are better for poison resistance.

Ive found several sets so far now, but they don't make much of a difference to me. Mostly seem to be for the look.

And yeah, the witch fight is fairly easy as far as bosses go. The forbidden woods gets interesting, and isn't the easiest place either.

I'll stop being vague too, for me I went right before Amelia's doors and down where the hunters were. After fighting and losing to a bagman I got transported to a new location. There's another boss there (yarhargul / hypogean gaol), and the tonitrus if you get out. The tonitrus is badass against stuff due to its bolt effect, although its not very durable. For reference I can now charge it and one shot hit the butcher guys with r1:biggrin:

Sigh, still stuck on logarius. Got him once to 50%, but most of the time barely anything. I just can't get around his death attacks very well. Also having to go farm blood vials now since I'm running out. :|

Well, that's OK. For poison resistance, you can wear the black or white church sets. The black set is just in the round plaza in Cathedral Ward, near where the hookers are IRRC, so you could just go pick that up.

- Tomb Prospector gear is easy to get. Just need a Radiant Sword Hunter Badge from the Hunter's Workshop... and then farm some echoes. It's archane resistance.

- Yahar'gul Set is also easy to get. Just get caught by a Snatcher, and you can go find this set and the zappy Tonitrus weapon. This armor set has good physical resistance, but that's it! Low fire, bolt, poison, etc.

- Kill Henryk to unlock his set. Has good Bolt res.
- Kill Eileen, or finish her chain, to unlock Crow armor. It's physical, blunt and blood res. Good option for fighting other hunters. Also good frenzy resistance.
- Kill Djura (jerk on the roof with the gattling gun) to unlock the Ashen set at the insight shop. Has good Beasthood stat (used with the beast claw weapon and beast blood pellet damage multiplier)

Uhm, if you haven't grabbed the Charred Hunter Set, I think it' unlocks from Djura's Powderkeg badge. Or, you can find it in Old Yharnam. It's the fire resistance set, basically.

Let's see, anything else pre-Forbidden Woods, that I could be missing.... Uh... There's the hunter set w/ the tophat in Cathedral Ward.

The armor doesn't matter that much, but it helps a little. Sometimes having the right resistance set on, can be the difference between enemies 1-shotting you with a cheap ability, or you just living through it.

Its faster but not always noticeable. Although I'll be one to not enjoy the new loading screens as much as I liked finding that stuff and reading it then and I'm not sure if it shows only stuff you've discovered or not. I would've been happy enough if they just made the logo pulse instead of bright white. Not that big of a deal though.

The only time it seems faster is when you go to the hunter's dream. It is a bit shorter than before but its not like it is instant. I don't mind reading about the items too. Seems like they should have done that in the first place. Let's give the player something to do if he has to wait lol.

The load times when you die are the ones that suck. The level data is in memory. You just need to reset the state. Instead they do a whole new reload.

The load times on death are the ones that improve the most. They were cut roughly in half. In the tests on Eurogamer load times went, roughly (from memory because I'm at work):

-from 45 seconds on load of a new area to 35-40 seconds
-from 45 seconds on death to 20-25 seconds
-from 11 seconds to load Hunter's Dream to 9 seconds.

It's a dramatic effect. The only place it's not noticeable is the Hunter's Dream

Beat the witch in hemlock Chanel. I had zero blood viles left and literally not even a 1/2 inch of health left. I kept going after the clones and got pretty messed up when the old witches would appear and blast me with magic.

After some time all I did was run around the room avoiding the witch clones that spawned and just looked for the two old witches.

Now I guess I have to go beat amelia. I also got those two hunters to the right of where the next boss is located. Kind of lame that they didn't give me anything good. I'm now trying to find that item that stops her from healing before I head in there.

Lots of fire paper, she burns like torch, it's brilliantly effective. You can counter her attacks with a firearm and stun her and then smash her jaw in, that's a useful tactic. I found her one of the easier bosses in the game.
It's a very, very useful area to farm, the one prior to the Witch of Hemwick, between the first bonfire before the dancing hags and the one in that room when you beat the Witch. Almost every enemy drops blood vials or silver bullets, you get a huge amount of blood echoes and the enemies are relatively easy. One of the Witch's cronies, the tall gangly things spawns in an area once the Witch is defeated, around a walled dip with a tree in the middle, and further up one of the ogre things can be plunge attacked to drop him faster, so it really is a useful area. I backlogged the hell out of blood vials there.
If you're finding her tough (that is if you haven't done her yet) it's a good place to summon, too. Gets a lot of traffic.

I have 3 fire papers so far. Had to reduce my insight from 15 because enemies were a bit tougher. I do have more insight in terms of madman's knowledge that I haven't converted over.

I'm farming in the hemlock lane right now so I can level up some more and try again. Kind of annoying I rack up about 3k echoes on my way to Amelia then loose them in one hit if she does that ground pound with the arms.

Yeah, it's an annoying attack. It's worth getting into the habit of 'unlocking' the target reticule on an enemy, rolling, then relocking on. Try it on some lesser enemies, but the rolling animation has more 'invincible' frames, so it works better for avoiding.
I stuck around her back left leg, she moves reasonable quickly, but she has very easily telegraphed moves. Spend some time watching her attack animations, how she spools up for certain attacks.

I've used two fire papers and got her down to less than 30 % health left but then she started healing and I forgot to watch my health. I can only carry 21 health viles and I used about 13 of them.

Wish firepaper was easier to get.

what kind of code comes with the game? looking to buy a used copy but not sure if the game comes with anything needed for online play?

I beat the game about a week and a half ago. I enjoyed it all the way through and this is coming from someone who liked the little of Dark Souls he placed. I can see the criticism about little replay value because unless you really love the game there's not much incentive for a NG+. I ended up only using the saw cleaver then switching over to Ludwig's holy blade for the rest of the game. I don't see using a different build or weapon giving me much of a different experience. One minor nitpick I had about the game is why don't they have the model's lips move while talking? I mean it's not only a AAA game but it's 2015.

Also, I'm not a fan of the new loading screens. The bare loading screen before at least fit in the ominous mood of the game. I much rather they present cryptic facts about Yharnam to help fill in the story.

For me the holy blade does nowhere near as much damage as the threaded cane granted I've only upgraded the blade once.

I don't have the game anymore. How are the loading times after today's patch?

Pretty much cut in half

Ive just finished play through number 2 and working on 3. Which is unusual for me, I tend to play until i finish a game and then move on to something else.
