bah.. last time i bought a PVDVD from them it was
totally scratched to hell and they wouldnt exchange it.

Word to the wise.. ask to view the DVD before you buy it!

Mine was wrapped in cellophane when it bought it so I
stupidly assumed it was ok. wrong.

BB has a 30 day guarantee on PV DVD's. If you have a receipt and its less than 30 days, i would return and INSIST on a exchange for a bad dvd. Dont take NO for an answer

it doesnt take a key, it takes a magnetic device that you slide the case into, and then the yellow strip slides..... they are supposed to take it out when you buy it, its the same theft protection they use for rentals... if they forgot to take it out just take it back and have them remove it

I work for BB

They dont screen anything, rental or PV... the only time I buy a pv is if I can check like 2 dozen of them myself before I buy one... honestly I think pv are a rip off... you get a crappy quality disc,. the case is ruined with a bunch of stickers most of the time, and now we have this stupid ring stickers we put around the center of the DVD to signify the store it comes from

I heard a while back that Blockbuster has some content edited from DVD's in the way Walmart censors CD's. Is there any truth to this rumor?

No this is 100% untrue, unless it is a special edition and then it will say so on the case. All major releases are the same thing you would buy anywhere else (with the exception of walmart I guess, but what doesnt walmart suck at?)

Then your 30 days was up, or you didnt save your receipt, wich they will tell you as you leave the store with your DVD, and the 30 day return policy is posted everywhere. I dont see how that is their fault. Should they take them back for eternity?

This would be a negative. I don't think Walmart is selling edited DVDs yet. I believe this is exclusive to the state of Utah that is doing this and even then it is mom & pop rental stores. Blockbuster could never edit movies and not have the MPAA all over them like Clinton on an intern.

The deal seems to be on in Chicago outlets. I picked up "No Taboo", The Royal Tenebaums, Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, Monsters Inc and Not Another Teen Movie all for 9.99 each. I'll have to find my local dollar tree and pick up those DVD cases.

Just got back from Blockbuster her in AZ. Got Blade 2, LOTR, and Showtime. All for 9.99 each. Pretty good deal!

The DVD Talk Bargains forum mentioned this a couple of weeks back, but I forgot until Tues. nite when I stopped in by chance. Got Monster's Inc. and Not Another Teen Movie for myself, Changing Lanes and Count of Monte Cristo for Mom and my g/f got Queen of the Damned and some HK flick.

Plenty of LOTRs, but I'm gonna get the EE next week ($25 at Beast Buy), no Spider-Dorks yet.
