Block AOL users from viewing your site!!!

Do you think the n00bs using AOL even know what Trillian is, let alone give a dam?

Besides, what kind of traffic does your personal webpage get? (OR, if you know about Shawn's Computer's, are you likely to be using AOhell?)

p.s. I do support Trillian. 🙂

I actively dislike AOL. I have come to hate AOL'ers as well. Last time I was on AOL was when 3.0 was the huge thing. Anyone remember AOHell? Being able to punt people was great 🙂 You could be a Mod 🙂

The site Flash Your Rack recieving 25k people a day has blocked AOL users! 😀

<< Well, to do my part, i've banned all of AOL from my website recieving roughly 25k people a day and left a nice message to thier users.

Message reads:
Until AOL unbans the use of trillian as an AOL Instatnt Messenger alternative, we have banned all of AOL from our site. If you wish to get access again, complain to AOL about thier monopolistic business practices. GET THEM TO ALLOW TRILLIAN AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THIER AIM CLIENT.

We may at some time choose to change this policy, but for now, thier is no more FYR for you, because I dont support the actions of people who dont allow me to use the Instant Message client of my choice.

Maybe this will help out a little bit, at least i can rile up the AOL users a bit so they can complain as well. Another few thousand users asking them why they cant access thier favorite sites based on AOL's business practices will probably raise a few eyebrows.

Until AOL stops screwing me and the rest of the trillian world, screw AOL.

hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Monopolistic practices? hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I will avoid this website based on their general stupidity.

<< Uhh yeah... let's hold aol users hostage because we don't like aol's policies. That makes REAL sense... >>

makes plenty of sense to me...

Ahh, is it just me or is this wrong? The problem isn't Aol's "monopolistic business practices," but the fact that Trillian is leeching off of the Aol servers. If you owned the servers which store all the information for Buddy Lists, would you want some other third party software (other than yours) to leech off your bandwidth? Maybe some people just don't sit well with the fact that they're favorite little chat program isn't backed by the host. I've always thought that beggars can't be choosers.

Interesting idea, but it wouldn't work.

Folks who make money on their sites wouldn't want to block people from coming to their site. Less visits = less money.
