I held my best friends head after he lay pretty much dead on a road after a biking accident when I was 12, had blood all over my pants from his head wound. So yeah, kinda been there done that.

But I kept a monotone voice. Because that's what you do.

You kept a monotone voice, and comforted him??? You didn't ball all over the place or cry enough? Exactly. You disproved your own point with your own life experience. Maybe tap into your own life experience more often before making weird claims.

Leave it to LegendKiller to criticize someone for not freaking out while someone is dying, while saying he did the same thing and has been in her shoes. Yet, he blames her reaction on being stoned.

So.. did LK just admit to being stoned when his friend was bleeding out in his arms? Why were you stoned LK? Don't you know pot is bad? Why are you such a druggie?

Dude, you're just flat out ignorant. That what you responded as. An ignorant person. You don't comprehend the intellectual arguments people are making against your strawmen. And instead respond to your own misunderstandings. It's kind of sad.
No, I responded as a condescending prick that is mocking you for your ridiculous defense of a mom who is willing to expose her kid to drugs, any drugs, at 4yrs old. Why not just give her some whiskey too.

Get it straight.

dude, whiskey neq pot. More people will die tonight from whiskey than have died from pot during the entire existence of the USA. Admitting you think whiskey and pot are on the same level is an admission of ignorance.

Your entire premise is a fallacy based on false equivalence. Either you're being purposefully dense, or you just aren't that bright.

It's pretty far off the original issue to begin with, the only thing I can think of is he's trolling for someone to pull an Alkeymst type of "Drinking is OK if
you're driving" move.

"likely" drugged up? Again, her story is worse than your fantasy story you made up?

As I've said, show me anything that refutes her story. Not even the police are refuting it.

This has been pointed at numerous times. If there was ANYTHING refuting this narrative, the police would have released it by now. In this instance there are no inside police "sources" leaking ANYTHING. That is HUGELY significant. It cannot be understated. In every case where the cops actions were justifiable, information was leaking out of the department like a sieve.

The only part I am fuzzy on is this: on a felony stop, is the cop REQUIRED by regulation to conduct the stop per the rules I posted earlier? I am contending that he be tried for manslaughter due to his not following those rules. However, I am not completely sure that he did break the rules on this since I do not know what the Minnesota rules for a felony stop are.

I think he is trying to be as unlikeable as possible. In terms of persuasive argument, he must realize that he has presented absolutely nothing that even remotely approaches a logical argument. Every other poster on this thread was at least able to meet that extremely minimal standard.

Only you could push hate onto a widow, who is now a single mother because her husband was shot in front of them by an officer in which the husband was trying to comply with. But she had weed! I hope your friend was a perfect person less you find something wrong with him to, in some way, justify his death like you did to this lady's husband or her story.

You'd think living through these types of situations would give you connection with others going through similar tragedies.

My early GUT feeling on this (unfortunately), are that the girlfriend may NOT be telling the truth. (But I could easily be WRONG).

She now seems to be telling at least one (possible lie ?) thing which CONTRADICTS some of the available evidence. She is saying her boyfriends GUN was never produced.
But the BLURRY video and police officers statement (via his lawyer) CONTRADICT this.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/philando-castile-showed-gun-traffic-stop-girlfriend-article-1.2706987

It is beginning to look like a FELONY stop to me. But the car occupants REFUSED to comply with it.

DISCLAIMER:
It is ONLY a partial gut feeling I have. At this early stage, and with rather limited/weak evidence available, I could easily be WRONG!

Something funny is going on with this case, and one of the sides, is probably at least partially misleading people, as it does NOT add up. (Smells fishy).

But I am by no means, anywhere close to being 100% certain as to which party is in the WRONG.

tl;dr
It could still go either way in my mind.

I guess we will eventually find out, the true story.

DISCLAIMER:
My LACK of USA experience (I DON'T live there, obviously), is seriously messing up my ability to interpret this case well. Sorry.

tl;dr2
Was the gun really on his lap and/or almost being used ?

Did the police officer ask the suspect(s) to put their hands out of the window ?

Why the heck did the police officer say "F*** ......... F***" many, many times. Was that because he MESSED up ?
Or was it because of the horrible experience that he just had to defend himself ?

Yeah, because her reaction to her boyfriend getting shot in front of her was perfectly normal.

Not a single fucking tear, nothing.

Would your girlfriend, in a monotone voice, seconds after you're shot, say "ohh, I hope you didn't shoot him"?

My wife would be fucking hysterical. As would any significant other after seeing that.

So what is the likely answer? We know she smokes up with her kid in the car?

Answer is....she was fucking baked.

When my wife screamed for me to call 911 while carrying in our youngest who had stopped breathing due to an out of the blue seizure when she was 18 months old I kept my voice calm with the emergency operator. My daughters well being depended on me remaining calm.

Sort of how the mother in this story needed to remain calm to protect her daughter.

Now her behavior could be because she was trying to protect her daughter in shock, or yes even under the influence at the time. It could even have been all three.

The point is you don't know. The rest of us are going by the only story with any evidence at all behind it, her video. You on the other hand seem very emotionally invested that this cop did everything right. It will take time to tell but as of today the video evidence indicates otherwise.

The girlfriend says on the video, something like "My boyfriends been shot and wounded in the arm". I.e. she thinks he has just been a bit injured, and when the hospital and doctors fix it, he will be fine (she does not realize he has been fatally wounded, yet).

So there is NO need for her to get into a giant PANIC, as people potentially get injured from time to time, anyway.

tl;dr
"Flesh wound" (which she seems to have thought it was), does NOT need one to get into a total panic.

It is quite reasonable for her to misunderstand the shooting at that stage, because she is NOT a policewoman or doctor/nurse, so may have little idea about the realities of gunshot victims.

I'm NOT too familiar with US policing operations.

Apparently (simultaneously) BOTH police officers approached BOTH front windows/doors of the "suspects" car.

Presumably ?
That way of doing things, does NOT occur, for a simple driving (misdemeanor ?), such as a suspected faulty rear light (cracked maybe).

I.e. Does that tactic sound more like handling a SUSPECT/Felony kind of stop (armed robbery suspect) ?

tl;dr
Is there any significance to the fact that BOTH police approached the car simultaneously ?
Or might that happen, even for just a slightly faulty/busted tail/rear light ?

If cops are teamed up in the US, it is pretty common for them to approach both windows at the same time on minor traffic stops. A lot of cops roll solo, though.

Thanks for the reply.
I see. So as regards this thread, I CAN'T read anything of any significance into the fact that, that was how they approached the suspects car.

In the UK (I'm NOT an expert on the Police, even the UK ones), fortunately.
But the UK police, DON'T do that.
Even if there are two policemen in the police vehicle, only one will approach the suspects car.
Since the main risk in the UK, would be the suspects car driving off. Having one policeman, stay in it, means it can be started up, ready for a chase, if they try and flee.

If it was "armed" police (in the UK), then it might be MULTIPLE policemen, approaching the vehicle (I guess). Tactics are different, as armed police are only called out when the suspects are either armed or doing something REALLY bad, such as terrorism etc.

I think because the UK police are mostly NOT armed (except at some airports and Prime Minister protection, etc), and most criminals don't have guns, the UK and US have different techniques.

what i dont get and from what ive read on news sites is why was he making any movement whatsoever after telling the cop he had a concealed gun? I mean to me that was a serious mistake. I come with the realization that any cop that pulls me over doesnt have a clue who I am and whether or not im dangerous or just an average guy. So I take precautions. Hands on the steering wheel, lights turned on etc. Anything to let the cop know im not a threat.
The guy did a good job in letting the cop know he had a gun and the news account i read stated that the cop asked for license and registration, the guy says i have a concealed gun, the cop says dont move, the guy moves for his license or registration (or for his gun). How is the cop to know what the guy is going to do after he tells him not to move? The cop reacts and overreacts and kills this guy.
Now never will you ever hear that this guy was a jerk, people hated him, he stole from the elderly and took candy from children. It just doesnt matter what he has done or not done his friends are going to say that he was a sweet and gentle man, couldnt even kill a fly, and the media eats it up. Im not saying hes is or isnt a good person. Honestly we dont even know if he was reaching for a gun or not. And asking his gf to comment on who was in the right and who was in the wrong is kinda like having an argument with me and asking who do I agree with.

I feel sorry for both parties. This is going to change the life of the cop and unfortunately it killed the life of that black man. But I will say this, not everything is racially motivated but Obama coming out and saying the gunman killing white cops wasnt racially motivated is not doing this country any favors.

Huh - same glasses, same shirt, potentially same cigarettes, same build, same hair, same facial hair. Gun in lap.

And now Piaget Crenshaw...er...Lavish, is not talking to the media.

hmmm....

Lest we forget
Interestingly, several days ago we noted the brand of cigarettes stolen from the USA convenience store (3 cartons on suspect #1 CCTV Image below) were Newport. While the brand itself is a popular menthol cigarette smoked by many within the black community, the appearance therein was yet another dot in an otherwise cloudy set of events.

We all know black people smoke Newports so guilty as charged.

Even though the cop said on the recording the only reason he stopped Castillo is his "wide nose"

Sounds quite reliable.
