blizzard's hearthstone, more epic pay2win failure

And where did Diablo 3 have microtransactions again? More stupidity and hate for no reason I see. You're not bias at all.

And last I checked, these card games are pretty popular on smart phones and tables. A company making one with familiar setting / characters and that is known for production quality isn't a bad thing. If you don't like the game, don't play it.

You would think so, but just another example of the decline of blizzard to activision dlc/micro-transaction fodder content.

Have you ever played a trading card game? They are all, every single one, "enhanced" with microtransactions. This has nothing to do with Blizzard except they want to make one. You don't have to buy cards, but to get best cards more reliably, you have to pay.

RMAH

That doesn't change the fact that Blizzard chose to make that kind of micro-transaction riddled game.

Sounds just like the shitpile diablo 3 then. Terrible game where you can use terrible items or pull out your credit card. More garbage from Activi$ion/Bli$$ard.

They ought to merge with Zynga and just embrace their newly evolved status of crappy pay2win micro-transaction content devoid of challenge and complexity.

RMAH wasn't microtransaction based in the sense that the word is used with these types of games. Those were all items players found and decided to try and sell. Sure, Blizzard got a fee for offering this service, but who cares? And if you think you have to use RMAH to get good items in Diablo, you're playing the wrong type of game. It is a loot hoarder game. Your only goal is to find better loot. The D3 hate is amazing.

Sounds like a fun casual game. I'll give a try, and probably blow $20-$50 on booster packs if I find it fun. I hope they legitimize out of game card sale/trading, because if they don't it's going to happen anyway.

I actually agree with the majority of the reddit that people need to lighten the fvck up.

It looks like a fun F2P game. Knowing them, they'll make the free part viable- similar to Dota or LoL. It's also wise for them to produce a lightweight game that can be played on mobile devices- good for us and $$$ for them.

This, they need to make trading/selling legal. MTGO does a great job and cards hold value well.

I invested $150 into Solforge already and can see investing in packs and stuff here.

I can't read the link, but I don't think it will be like MTGO where you have matches against players. I would really support that. As it stands now, I was only playing the free draft tournaments in MTGO and have stopped completely now. I might get back into it though if they still have those on Thursdays.

Eww, yeah the more i'm looking the more actual information im finding...
I may play this?
I love card games, but never really got that into them on the computer. Just something about actual cards... On the computer I like slightly more involved games i guess?

Oh well, part of me still thinks it's an amazing April Fools joke!

I just made a post on the forums suggesting the idea that it was an elaborate Arpil Fools joke. Post was deleted in under 2 minutes... Not sure what that means?

You're right, it isn't the same from a user perspective, but from Blizzard's perspective its even better. They get to rake in money without even putting out micro-transaction content, really.

Yeah, your only goal is to find better loot, so having a RMAH kind of short circuits that and is self destructive. It has no place in that kind of game, but Blizzard put it in thinking of $ rather than game quality.

For me, part of the fun of a TCG is physically having/looking at the cards. I couldn't see myself blowing that much money on digital pictures.

It means that they think you were crap-posting and deleted your post lol

Dumac you should check out Solforge some, its doing things that you can't do with a phsyical card game, or at least keep track of it easily.

I was the same way i like physical stuff, but after playing card based and MTGO versions of magic and have over a thousand invested in both, being able to play anytime outweights my concerns over just have phsyical cards.

Greetings from PAX demoed hearthstone for a half hour. Hugely underwhelmed with the announcement. the game too. Contained reminders and pointers even in the demo to use battle.net fundings to buy cards by showing what is for purchase. Outright mindless and boring. so looking forward to Blizzard booth here and get this pointless app. Off to try some of the great demos that are here fortunately.
