So the verdict is still being read but the twitter feeds are showing hes guilty on the first 10 of 18 counts.

Probably guilty on all counts the jury could decide upon.

Edit: Full verdict is in. Guilty on 17 counts, not guilty on 1, hung on the other 2.

Not really suprised. Full link will be posted when the full verdict has been read.

Nice, about time.

I am glad he never got Obama linked to him. Because if he did we'd be stuck with President Biteme.

Awesome tweet from Ezra Klein
"BREAKING: Reality TV star Rod Blagojevich to move from NBC's 'Celebrity Apprentice' to MSNBC's 'Lockdown'."

Very glad to hear this. Some of the coverage I was reading was getting me worried he might get acquitted. This IMO is one of the most disgusting political scandals of the past decade, and that is saying quite a lot.

The man does not deserve this, for this.

The seat WAS his to fill, and it WAS golden. Political favors are what MAKE politicians. Literally, not figuratively. They do not exist separately from trading action for political support.

If he deserves sentencing, then every single President, Congressman, Senator, and Governor deserve the same. That they are not means he was singled out. Selectively targeted in a land of supposed equal treatment.

He is only guilty of being a victim from the media pouncing on him. They've taken the rest of his life from him, not by the rule of law, but by the rule of mob.

Go ahead and celebrate today, for tomorrow they'll be done with him and there is no law stopping the mob from feasting on you next.

Quid pro qou's are illegal. This is what happens when there is actual evidence of trading favors.

Maybe Chicago will be a little less of a cesspool now that such a high profile crook has been made an example of, but I doubt it.

I wish that we had the death penalty for corruption like China does.

Personally I think that's why they decided to bust him when they did. Had they been smart, they could have kept the surveillance on longer and seen what else a dirty politician could lead them too. But they didn't. Strange.....

He looks guilty. There isn't really a good reason for a man to have hair covering his whole forehead unless he's hiding something.

Money or gifts for himself or his associates I understand, but for mere political favor? To me they never proved it was anything beyond politics.

He faces 305 years.

Supposedly he will be sentenced to 1/3 of it which is still 100 years so he will die in prison.

I had heard the jury was to render a verdict today, and now we have it so the verdict is undeniable.

And while I am somewhat ambivalent and feel Blago was a rat fink, I have to somewhat agree with Jaskalas that the means used to convict him was rather sleazy and unethical, and dubious.

Oh well, we are talking the future Blago appeal. While political corruption will roll merrily along unimpeded all over the world. As the latest witch trial thought crime now has a verdict. The only thing missing is the hollow pumpkin.

I'll take what we can get. Guy is a guiltless, corrupt politician. Don't cry for him, don't you dare.

Not surprised. Though Im sure this happens in 99% of the political dealings in the country. Throw them all in jail.
