Entertainment Weekly magazine lists both of these as in the top 6 new programs to watch.

The Blacklist - James Spader is enough for me to give it a chance. Mon. 9/3 10PM EDT NBC

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D - co-created by Joss Whedon (again enough for me to at least check it out.) The magazine calls it a "smarter superhero drama." Tues 9/24 8PM EDT ABC

Agents of Shield? Never heard of it. I could maybe give it a chance...

Blacklist looks bad in the previews that they never stop showing.

I like Spader, but that show looks like another "The Event." It will go on and on and on from episode to episode...and we'll never learn anything before it's cancelled.

Agents of Shield looks decent...and a nice tie in to the Marvel movies.

I watched the pilot for Blacklist last night. Not bad...but definitely not "good."

I don't have high hopes for Agents of Shield but will at least watch the pilot. With the 8 PM air time, I suspect it's gonna be aimed more at kids than adults.

I watched The Blacklist last night and thought it was okay. I will probably watch it again next week.

blacklist was meh, though I had no problem watching the entire episode so I will check it out again next week.

I enjoyed agents of shield, it was entertaining. I enjoyed that they kept some of the people who were in avengers and they started it after in the same time line as the avengers movie. Depending on the stories it could turn out to be a very entertaining show.

I enjoyed AoS. It had Whedons sense of humor and Ron Glass! So my DVR is set.

Blacklist was okay. Agents of Shield was terrible.

Blacklist will live all season because of its Monday night time slot. Monday nights are filled with garbage and MNF.

Agents of Shield has much more competition because its time slot is loaded with other shows. But it will likely last the year because of the money being spent to make and promote it.

Basically Blacklist has a decent chance of winning its time slot against broadcast competition, it did last night. Agents has no shot of winning its time slot. The writing for both(more so Agents) needs to get better if either want a shot at a second season.

Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D was... meh.

As far as premieres go, it wasn't that good, it needs to ramp it up to stay alive.

Meh is a pretty good description for AoS. I was right in my earlier prediction that it will be aimed more for the kiddies than for adults. I'll probably give it a couple more weeks to see if it gets any better.

Agents was awful. I can not believe Marvel or Disney would put their names on it. It was painful making it through the whole hour.

Blacklist was better than expected however the lead actress is just too powerful for being her first day. She ignores superior officers telling her what to do on her FIRST day. Runs around like she owns the place. I really hate those types of characters because they don't exist in real life. But maybe they are going for the hyper reality vibe.

Was I the only one who thought the ending was ripped straight from Back to the Future?

Back to the Future for sure. I thought it was a wink to the audience. It was already so campy that I thought it was intentional. At least hope that was intentional.

I liked Agents of Shield, but why does everyone on the show have to be a supermodel? That one girl said she lived in a van, yet had perfect hair, skin, and clothes. I hate that.

Does anyone else think that Heroes did a better job opening than Shield? I was expecting a Heroes level plotline and interesting characters. Heroes did suck after the second season. Fully willing to admit that but I was thinking with Marvel and Disney money they would have competent writers to handle it. Even Alphas had better actors/plot than shield so far.

Agents of Shield was awesome. Exactly what I expected from a comic-book based show. Agent Coulson was great and all the other characters, while overly pretty, were certainly competent. I'd expect them to grow into their roles as the show develops. And some good one liners ("knives in poop" lol).

I shouldn't be surprised how strong the "everything popular must suck" vibe is in this thread. It is ATOT after all.

technically the shield flying car has been around since the 60's. so back to the future ripped them off.

I wasn't meaning the fact the car was flying so much as how they depicted it. In my mind, it looked just like the DeLorean at the end of BTTF1 running away from the camera then making a lazy turn towards the camera.
