OK, I'm 16 minutes into the movie and Samuel Jackson is already doing what Samuel Jackson does best! :D
Seems like a good movie so far.

Samuel L Jackson seems to have a fixation with Snakes.... WTH is with all of the low budget films he is making now?

He has always taken pretty much any script someone has offered him. Hes doing it for the money. The only person to be in more movies in the '90s IIRC is Christopher Walken. Or maybe its the other way around I forget.

I liked him in Die Hard 3 but what happen to him afterwards, I just don't know.

It's about the black snake in Sam Jackson's pants.

Just watched the movie - pretty good and definitely worth a watch. It'll give your audio setup one helluva workout and it also looks awesome. If you need further incentive, check out Track 7 from the soundtrack 'Black Snake Moan' - with Samuel L. Jackson on vocals and guitar.

The scene where Jackson plays this song about 80 minutes into the movie - the movie is worth watching for one scene alone.  Brilliantly shot and edited.

You mean the one during the storm? It was excellent. Also liked his cover of Stagger Lee.

Yup, the one during the storm. I can't quite get over how awesome I thought it was. The Stagger Lee (it's called Stack-O-Lee on the soundtrack?) cover was pretty rad too - bore the trademark Samuel L. Jackson badassery in delivery.

Decent movie, and plenty of good scenes for those who like christina ricci in a hormonal way. Still, it wasn't anything to write home about. Ebert and Roeper's show raved about it (though it was Kevin Smith and not Ebert I believe)... not worth that much praise.

hello thread resurrection.

anyhoo, i thought this was a great flick. pretty damn original, surprisingly powerful story. not the seedy soft-core that the ad campaign made it out to be. looks great in HD too ;)

agreed. but that song has gone through many names over it's long history. seeing as how the lyrics of such traditional songs tend to change depending on who's performing it.
