Through 2 episodes I have enjoyed this show.
Even some of the commercials for Starz other original series have me interested like Davincis Demons and The One about the lady who wakes up in the past (cant remember the title)...

I just started episode 3. So far its borderline whether I'll continue. The previous post gives me hope I can make it to 5. Since its Starz it is pretty likely to get a second season so it has that going for it too.

Everyone wants to make their own "Game of Thrones". Starz effort falls way short but it has its moments.

I just watched ep 1 of s2, it was pretty good. The budget must be pretty big, production value seems pretty high

So far through 2 episodes I think this season is off to a lot better start than season 1 was. It's interesting doing wikipedia searches on some of the pirates in the show, and reading the actual history about them.

If you are on Episode 3 of S1, I agree. I liked the first season but there was something a bit, "off" about it. S2 seems to be a lot better. I'm not sure if they changed writers or added people but I've found S2 to be much better than 1.

I love pirate stories growing up. This is a show I wouldn't miss. It does not disappoint. Some of the story lines are a little off but over all it's a good show. The biggest draw back is that everyone already "knows" the end from the book.

I really like where the show is headed now, I'm not sure why more people don't watch it or chime in. Seems to be a good opening act each year before GoT starts.

I've had this series on my radar for quite some time now. I'm definitely going to check it out soon given all the positive reviews here.

As others said S1 kind of sputters and only seemed to have a vague direction. S2 really cleaned up the story and it's way better. Not going to say it's some awards winning must see, but it's certainly worth the time.

Anyone else watch last Saturday's episode? They left it so the season finale will be something else :D

Yah man, that was a good episode. I have a feeling the finale is going to be crazy. Woe be to anyone in Flint's way.
Yeah, I mean he tried really hard to extend the olive branch and they killed his woman and took him prisoner.

We can assume he'll get freed by Vane, which is a huge turn in the story. The last two times they were involved in anything Vane tried to kill Flint and this time steal is boat. It makes sense why, just an unexpected turn.

Guthrie got kidnapped and the two power players aren't around to save her. Only Rackham and Max, who she just screwed.

Don't see it ending up good for the 9 with pardons, doubt any of them survive much longer.

Yea that guy that shot his girl was way too uptight about everything. Interesting how Vane wants to be the one to kill Flint, so he's willing to do a land raid to retrieve him just for that purpose.

Vane just wants to rob the Colonials of their prize.

I'm expecting Charleston to burn next episode, they better not disappoint. :colbert:

is this show better than Freaks and Geeks? How do they compare?

Apples to oranges. I just finished the first season of this show, and I really like it. I also watched all episodes of Freaks and Geeks just a coupe months ago for the first time, and I really liked that show too. But there is not one thing similar to compare them. They are both good shows for what they are.

They never explained how Vane and his men got all the way to Charleston.

That's one of the many disconnects in this show. This episode S2E09 is one of the best episodes so far. Can't wait to see how they get Flint out. I am willing to bet the Col. Rheh (?) will pay for that shot.

I like the show schedule; back sails then games of thrones. Anyone has another similar theme show to recommend for the second half of the year? I like pirates, swords, knights, castles etc.
