First episode has me interested.

Much nudity, and violence. Also, pirates.

Pretty good check it out.

It really doesn't behoove these premium networks to make their content so hard to see. There is a reason game of thrones is the most pirated show on earth.

They should let people watch for a couple bucks an episode. Better than the alternative that people who don't have that option turn to. Piracy.

A couple bucks? i have yet to find a show that I'm willing to pay more than $0.25 an episode. 13 episodes $26 for the season, that seems outrageous to me.

Its $10 to see a 2 hour movie these days. I would gladly pay for certain shows.

You can be sure that HBO, Showtime, Skinemax, Epix, etc. have all done the cost/profit analysis of moving to online subscription vs. cable models. If it was more profitable to go in that direction currently they all would have done it by now. All are positioned to do that since they all offer online streaming services. The fact that none of them have is telling.

No doubt it will go in that direction eventually. Some things need to change though. They need to figure out how to offer streaming to customers on all of their devices but lock it down with out being a hassle. Take HBO Go for example. There is more than one forum member in here who readily admit they are stealing that content by using a relative's or friend's password. That sort of thing is undoubtedly rampant. Unfortunately there are people who, even when content was made affordable and simple, would still try to acquire it for free. Until that sort of thing is resolved a cable subscription will remain the sole legal avenue.

And my DVR is already set to record Black Sails because I actually pay for premium channels and do so gladly.
