There are plenty of secular humanitarian organizations. I say "secular" because I don't think an atheist would feel the need to only include atheists in their organization (as it is not typically an evangelical belief), so the question you're asking is a loaded one.
I understand that Christians shouldn't be vilified, but you're making the same mistake when you choose to ignore the good of atheists/agnostics.
edit: "Gang that say they are Christian". . . well you've found the perfect argument. If any Christian activity is brought up that makes the religion look bad, you can simply say they are not 'truly Christian.' That argument seems like a cop-out to me.

Comparing Secular NGOs with the countless number of faith based missions set up in Africa is laughable and you know it. I'll give props where props are Due but in the Grand scheme of things Daris' assertion that Christians are harming Africans just as much as they are helping them is grossly misleading.
I could reply to this post, and make counterarguments to the claims of Buchanan and his supporters, but frankly, I wouldn't change your minds anyway, so I am going to just leave it at that. Those of you who try to justify Buchanan's remarks appall and disgust me.

I was wondering the same thing. You see, people like moonbeam, Wright, jackson, sharpton etc are why we still have racism in our country - they like to keep that wound fresh by picking the scab whenever possible. They claim they want dialog but then when dialog happens and something is said that they don't like - they pick the scab. It's F'n disgrace that I have to walk on egg shells when talking about race because I'm "white" or risk being labeled a "racist". ... a f'n disgrace.
Have you ever had a rational disgrace about race? As Obama himself said, white Americans shouldn't have to feel the way you do. Perhaps you are thinking of the wrong people when it comes to race relations?

I'm specifically talking about HERE - AT. IRL, I have no problems but then again, I don't personally know any militant/ignorant/victim card players.
And yes, I've had plenty of rational discussions about race IRL- with more than one "minority". However, here it's very difficult to have a rational discussion due to people like moonbeam or some of the people who are posting in this thread.

This is true, however, not all say "god damn" us but still they should be grateful(the poor) that our gov't can help them, but sadly most it seems look at it as an entitlement and as something that is expected. I've seen both sides of that. The ones who are grateful seem to be the ones pulling themselves out of poverty but the ones who view it as an "entitlement" stay poor. This attitude seems to not be race specific though.
I see. I think if you were to speak to a competent AA, you would get a 360 degree view of where they come from, from the anger from being black to the embarrassement (sic?) of the plight of many AAs. Truth be told, AAs and White Americans have quite a lot in common if only they wouldn't be so apprehensive around each other. Blacks need to look towards the future, not the past. And whites needn't be so sensitive around blacks. If two rational human beings can't sit down and have a logical conversation, what future do we have? I think BO was trying to make that point but some, incredibly, saw it as him playing the victim card.
The truth is, the younger the generation, the less of an issue this seems to be. It's usually older folks that have a serious issue with this, as seen by Rev Wright and Pat Buchanan.
