"One resident says she saw a large black cat carry off her small dog when she let the pet outside last week. The dog has not been found."

I hope if they catch them that they just release them into the wild. Assuming, of course, that they don't kill any people.

They roamed all over my great grand fathers farm up near the Mo/Ark border back in the 80s.

They have been here for years AFAIK. You would hear stories about them scratching on doors of cabins when people lived here 100 years ago.

You would also have the game and fish people saying there are none. I think they just didn't want people trying to hunt them.

A few calfs each year would be found half eaten with tracks all over the ground. Game and fish came out and took molds of the prints and told us that panthers did not live anywhere near us.
My dad took severial pics of a mother and 2 cubs back in 88. He has them framed back at his house on the farm.

I did chuckle at that.

I have heard countless tales from friends/family who have heard them screaming while hunting.

There is a lady that lives near Vilonia/Mt Vernon who swears she has wolves living near her.

The problem here is that she is not all that far from the animal park that closed down. Makes me wonder if a few didn't get set loose.

We have several around here, just south of hot springs. They mostly live in Section 8 housing.
