Black Ops Single Player w/ out shooting

The devs aren't going to like that video one bit.

There was one game where the AI would really come after your ass, and usually get it. It was the game (FPS, not Fallout) in Vegas a few years back, can't remember the name.

Rainbow 6 Vegas? I remember the AI in FEAR being pretty impressive too.

This is great, I can que up a game, go to work, come home and win!!!

Score!!

Its a whole new gaming model!!!

This is one of the few levels in Call of Duty where you aren't required to charge forward guns blazing to maintain forward progress - if you play it as if you're part of a unit, it's actually kind of refreshing. That bit at the end is pretty bad, though.

The real problem with Black Ops, at least for me, is that there wasn't as much stealth play as you might expect (All Ghillied Up still hasn't been matched for me). It's almost all over-the-top action, which is apparently the direction the series is headed in.

Thank you for helping me save $60.

There is maybe 5 people in the world that buys Black Ops for the single player. The multiplayer and zombie modes are where 99% of players get the action, and you aren't winning either of those without shooting. Hell, you aren't winning Zombies period.

Besides, even if you were going to get this for single player, this video means absolutely nothing. You can choose to not shoot, or choose to shoot. But I guarantee you that you cannot possibly beat the campaign without shooting. Maybe the first level, but not the rest.

This. Even the wannabe one they had in MW2 was retarded.

Then might as well be some sort of DLC. I mean really, how much difference would there be in comparing CoD:BO multiplayer mode to other CoD games? There would be a lot of similarities. I DO buy games expecting decent single player gameplay.

Just want to add that I've played through a good chunk of the single player, and I noticed this level being rather easy as my teammates actually took a lot out. However, the level after that they stop being so effective. Pretty enjoyable single player but let's face it... if you need convincing to buy a CoD then you weren't going to buy it period.

When it's a 5 dollar special I might buy it. Maybe.

they should've kept in coop play, especially the maps where you got partners.

man i thought i shot the fake castro... so it shoots for you even if you don't press the mouse button? WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF

no, he says you're required to click the button to continue on with the mission, but its impossible to miss (as the cut scene shows the bullet doesnt even hit castros head before it explodes)

They do have co-op. Co-op multiplayer and zombies. Like I said, that's where the majority of the fun is. The single player is worth going through once, but if that's really all you want then the entire FPS genre is not really for you. Go play an RPG.

This is obviously a design decision so that noobs, kids (or perhaps the your typical mentally disabled xboxer) will be sucked in by the cinematic experience and won't get discouraged if they are so bad that they get killed on the first map. Every game nowadays has to have portions at the beginning that treat every single player as if they are a retarded monkey who has never even seen a videogame before. The suits demand it, because they want every single customer they can get.

And I'll bet you a dollar that COD4:MW did the same thing; that first nighttime ship-boarding mission in the rain, remember that? I bet you can just run through that without firing a shot too, and the only individual danger comes when you have to make that last jump over the collapsing walkway. This kind of mass-market cinematic tardin' of games ain't nothing new; it has been in full swing for years now.

I buy all Call of Duty games for the SP. In multiplayer the games are complete garbage. I can play Quake Live and get a much better, more visceral, more skill-oriented match up for free!

And if I wanted a more "realistic weaponry" style multiplayer experience, I'd go play Counter-Strike or something similar.

This is very overblown, the first mission is fun.

Yes, you can hide behind your allies and let them do all of the work on that mission because they were made indestructible. That's a lot better than them getting clipped by a stray round and you failing the mission, and why would you want to hide exactly?

A thread like this is like saying that UT'99 sucked because you could join a Face server and piston camp the top portal and get kills without doing anything. If you got bored doing that, it was your own fault for being boring. Games are fun (or not) based on how you interact with them, and I had a lot of fun playing through Black Ops singleplayer aggressively.
