Black Leather (Driving) Gloves

Does anyone have any recommendations on black leather driving gloves? They don't necessarily have to be "driving" ones, but just tight fitting black leather gloves, ideally with a touch of insulation.

The last couple pairs I've had came from Amazon and while I liked them, after a couple years the lining starts falling apart and ripping. These are the ones I got in Jan 2018 and the insides have been ripped since at least winter 2021-2022: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073PTFTG7

I'd prefer higher quality ones; I'll spend $100 or more if they're actually gonna last for years.

The lining will always fall apart. Just get a pair of thin knit gloves and wear them as liner.

When I had an aluminum shift knob my better half did not like it during "winter". It was an MT so yes it mattered ;)

After a certain temp (and age lol!) even stuff like a heated steering wheel only helps so much unless you park in a heated garage or leave the car running for 5-7 minutes every morning.

Heated mirrors rank higher for me than heated seats and steering wheel. Not having to scrape ice off of mirrors is sooooo nice. Had a '89 Daytona that had heated mirrors, its been a sticking point when looking at cars ever since.

I don't like seat heaters. A hot ass isn't appealing. I never got around to it, but I wanted to try to disconnect the coils in the seat of my old truck, but leave the ones in the lower back. When my back's being an asshole, heat there feels good., It also saves energy. Heating the kidney area gives better overall results with less power consumption. Important for electric cars.

I don't mind heated seats actually. Any time I sit in a new car that has them it's always nice. Need to be able to control the temp though. I don't want them to act as a hot surface igniter if I'm having gas. :eek:

My truck focuses most of the heat in the lumbar rather than the ass - but I agree, it would be nice to have control over both locations. I often use the heat on the way to/from the gym.

Seat-heaters are only really nice to have if you:

(1) Have leather seats which take WAY longer to warm up from just sitting.
(2) Live where it gets seriously cold in winter regularly. (say below 10f)
(3) Have to park outdoors.

The heated seats I've had in post-2000 vehicles had multiple settings for heat level.

Heated cloth is really nice too...just quite uncommon.

Seat heaters extend windows down driving season down to like 25 degrees F, at least on back roads.

I went through a lot of effort to put seat heaters in and mate them up to the OEM controls when I switched to racing seats and harnesses actually. Windows have to be open at the track, which is less than fun at 120 mph when it’s under about 45 degrees out.

They also allow you to keep the car on the cooler side at all times which goes a lot easier on your sinuses and lungs.... car defrosters are like breathing out of a hair-dryer with a side of air pollution.
