When women publicly state that they feel they are under represented in government and would prefer more women in government position...
White guys: (looks at wife\girl...mutters something about fixing the sink)

Dafuq?! Since when are they mechanical? Fixing the sink is our job.

So are you suggesting Republicans are overlooking qualified non-white men in their ranks for committee chairmen? Or do you think they should appoint less qualified non-white men as committee chairmen simply because of their non-white man status?

They are overlooking qualified non-white men in their ranks. Not necessarily out of racism but its what they know. You can't convince me qualified non-white males don't exist.

Remember the Romney search for cabinet members? The first list came back white males. Extra effort was required to break that paradigm.

Representation isn't (or shouldn't be) based on race, but values -- as in, does this person value what's important to me.

I can tell you, I am black,.. and if I was a voting man, I would NOT vote for Obama. What he values aren't what I do as an individual.

Diversity in congress is a good thing but we need to move away picking a representative solely based on race.

I don't think you all understand. Blacks feel they need to elect another black because Republicans in the 60's absorbed racist Democrats into their ranks. Oh, and these blacks wanting another black aren't racist in the slightest way. Yeppers...

Color has nothing to do with representation. It is racism. If I said I felt like "who ever" would represent me better because he is white... What would you say then?

White people are already represented. 99% of radio and TV is already "white entertainment" which is why there is no need for a WET channel, and its why African-Americans need a Black entertainment channel. Politics is the same thing just slightly better off. President Barack Obama is the first black President ever, previously white racism would have made him impossible to elect [thankfully we have large and growing minority populations present today who offset the racist white vote]. For every Jackson or Obama there are 10x as many white folks behind the scenes, who represent white people.

Black people deserve a black person to replace Jackson. White people deserve a black candidate to, since he would help them out to since he knows what racism and discrimination is like...He or she doing the same to white people ? Not likely!

Hypothetical question:

If German Jews in Germany wanted a Jew to represent them out of mistrust of German people could you blame them considering the events of WW2 ???

In the US we have black slave descendants who only recently couldn't even sit in the front of a bus, can you blame African-Americans for wanting one of their own to represent them ? White people did a pretty good job before of denying them pretty much everything..Thats white representation for ya.

I am sure to combat this possible disaster they will want to introduce the color of the candidates skin in front of the D before their name.

Nope, I don't blame them a bit; although I do question why they'd keep voting in such large numbers for a party that is only to happy to screw them, but that's another topic. But, it's racist to do so. Saying it's not racist is a total lie. I just want people to be honest, and admit that they're being racist when they're black, and just basically defacto vote for the black candidate. Because, that's really the only thing that explains the voting numbers for candidates when it comes to Blacks, as we quite clearly see with JJJr's numbers in this past election. The only responsible choice in that election was Write In (if that was even offered as an option, not likely), or any other candidate not JJJr, or just plain not voting.

Instead, go and look at the stats he was elected under.

I really didn't have much of an issue with your first paragraph (even though I think Blacks should vote based on what is actually good for them in Reality, not based on party and/or skin color, but, that's their choice, not mine), it was the second that was LOL worthy.

I've lived on Chicago's lovely South Side (really, far south suburbs) most of my life. To say that minorities aren't more racist than whites is batshit insane. To say their kids aren't more racist than white kids is batshit insane. To say that blacks in power won't adopt/force/coerce/whatever racist policies/actions that will benefit blacks/minorities at the expense of whites/asians is batshit insane.

If you just edited your post I first replied to and took that last para out, you'd be fine really. With it makes it seem like you think blacks wouldn't never ever be racist...which is very very wrong.

what people deserve is good representation, regardless of whether the rep is black, white, asian, male, or female.

to vote blindly because someone is the same skin tone as you is..well, pretty stupid.

In the US we have black slave descendants...

...who were sold primarily by BLACK slave traders.

An excuse, is an excuse, is an excuse. According to you every race should hate every race because at one time or another EVERY race has been a slave. It's a pathetic way to think.

Americans need American leaders, black, white, brown, red, yellow, purple, whatever.

So you admit that blacks voted for obama because he is black, These leaders need some common sense instilled into them, they are whats wrong with America

Stop using that as an excuse. They were excited about voting for him because he was black BUT if there was a black Republican running and a white Democrat running they STILL would have voted for the democrat.

Meh. Considering that this district just re-elected a completely messed-up addict who spent his second term AWOL, at best a white Representative will be a temporary blip. We should be more concerned about whether or not Jesse Jackson Jr. can get his life back together - that's literally a life and death struggle rather than arguing over the proper skin tone for which whackadoodle proggie represents this district in its never-ending quest for government largess.

Because the democrats have made blacks dependent on them, over 90% vote for them. The democrats give them welfare to keep them dependent on them as well as helping to destroy them by removing the need to work hard
