Just wondering, should I get PC2100 DDR or PC2700 DDR for this?
Does it matter?
It is PC2700 and mwave has 256MB for a little over $60 shipped.

On 4) Air is likely sucked into the case. Rather than old designs that had a heatsinkfan that pushed already warm ambient air onto the cpu this seems to bring in fresh ouside air. Very clever, and this design is obviously independent of cleaning up the inside for airflow reasons ( as long as the cpu heated air can rise to the P/S and be exhausted. 80mm fan or bigger (may be 92mm) can be run at very low rpm yet be effective - I like it.

But other than the fan that keeps the CPU cool, what keeps the case cool with nothing but the powersupply fan?
And speaking of power supplies, why is this 250w ps sufficient when most say it isn't. How does Medion pull off using a 250W ps?![]()

250 W is sufficient as long as you don't overclock. The processor may draw close to 70W and the graphics card may draw another 20 or so. These values go up substamtially if you apply higher voltages and higher frequencies. I think this is not possible with the standard mobo so you will likely not exhaust the P/S. (Other components are not that critcal.) I think my Dull has 250W also and it's no problem.

Well the only things I think I'd add that I want is the 2nd hard drive as you said, but since this doesn't have a tv tuner, and since I got an extra one lying around that I wanted to use, I would want to install that as well. I'm gonna try to add up all the wattages of the peripherals and see what I come up with. Wish there was a way to know for sure.

More important than wattage in a P/S is that you can draw enough current for the individual voltages. AMD was first to produce CPUs with more than 50W, but they drew most of their current through the 5V lead (10A for the processor alone- 50W/5A)), so they reverted to requiring 250 or ideally 300W. In the meantime P/S design has caught up, and most P/Ss provide 20+A at the 5V lead and PIV capable P/S have an extra connector for the processor, reducing somewhat the loss through sharing the 5V lead with other peripherals. AFAIK most drives and other peripherals actually use mainly the 12 V lead. So yeah 250W if well designed is OK for a normal system.

I am supprised how hot the hd's are and how quiet it is with the side panel off also unit case gets fairly warm when running rtcw at 8x12 with every thing turned up and my son is fragging the heck out of the bad guys reding the german web sites the is a tv turner card in the modem unit wich works through the inputs in the front panel tv/s video in and there is a ton of good softwear with unit all componts are first class even the edges of the case are bevelled

Only 1 of the PCI slots is filled, the other 2 are empty. That CNR slot has a modem in it (which I pulled from my rig).
Michigan dude... what's in it for me if I decide to ship you one of these??
