Oh, my dear, sweet sbpd!
How I've hoped to find you as well!
And to think, in all places - the Hot Deals forum.
Now be a good boy and mail out Gramma a nice blank check with your address on it
so I can be sure to get your Christmas present off in time!
Also, your old Bompa sends his love from Jackson.

Only thing I picke dup last year at BB was the GF3 Ti card. Not sure why people ge tup so early in the morning though. Just go the day before (or less than 30 days before) buy the stuff, then simply get a price match. Sleep in late, take your time, miss the crowds.
Of course some places try to keep things in the back warehouse and not put them on the floor but asking the right person nicely can usually get them to pull the stock out since they have it and just don't want to sell it early.

:disgust: Now don't get smart with me, sbpd. Mind your elders and send a blank one from your mom's account. (it's a wonder how you young'uns ever manage!)
Careful gramma, or the young'un might talk mommy into putting you into a managed care facility.Originally posted by: patj

I got in on this deal last year. 1 warning: Not only do they not take credit cards, they also don't accept every ATM card. I guess that means they don't belong to all of the available ATM networks (look at those little logo's on the back of your card). My card was from Bank of America, so don't just assume yours will work. I never did figure out what networks they were on. So if you're standing in line in the midwest somewhere freezing your ho-ho's off only to be snubbed at the door, don't say you weren't warned!!! Anyway, the PC rocks! I haven't used most of the free software on it (didn't need works, haven't tried a DVD yet), but it's good to know it's there if I need itI even had to call tech support once (yes, I feel shame). I can't remember what I did...maybe I wanted to install some beta software or something. Anyway, I needed to use the restore CD and it wouldn't work. Turns out the CD labeled restore CD was actually the XP CD, and the WinDVD cd was the one I needed. The restore program was in German, but the guy was able to walk me through it in seconds. They haven't posted drivers on their website very frequently, but I guess that's a good thing since I haven't had any problems. I have seen a few drivers available on Windows Update. Intel just annouced new prices today. They annouce a 3GHz chip Thursday, making the 2.66 the third string proc, which means a pretty big price drop. Personally, I'd wait until next year when they announce the next chip (so the prices come down on the 3GHz). With hyperthreading, it's almost like having 6GHz of desktop processing power. I wonder how fast the fireworks show in solitare will be then?

I can tell you with great certainty that come 1:00 am Friday morning after Thanksgiving, I will be huddled outside the Best Buy in Topeka, KS, thermos of hot chocolate or cappaccino in hand, and hopefully not needing to pee for the next 6-8 hours. Sure, its a 35 minute drive to that store, but it will be worth it since I got a couple hard drives, geforce 3, and more there last year.
Thats the fun of the season..
Its what its all about!!
P.S. note to self, look for a catheter or large milk jug to pee in.
