I still have my birkenstocks I used in high school. The rubber at the bottom after 10 years is virtually gone but I wouldn't wear anything else. I only wear them around the house, wearing them as a fashion statement or to be fashionable has to be some sort of joke.

Keens aren't cheap but they're worth it. They're all waterproof and the ones I have (Newport H2) have an anti-bacterial footbed so they don't smell. Unlike most sandals they are very supportive so your feet feel good in them even after walking around for hours.

Okay, I'll admit I work at a shoe store that sells a lot of Keens but this is the marketing talk, they really are good
