We have a cockatiel and it likes it when music is played. Doesn't seem to care what music as long as there's some music (doesn't have to be loud) playing nearby it'll shut its trap.

those are normal peach face. if it is a female, throw some palm fronds into its cage, i bet that shuts it up

Increase the distance between you and this bird by moving out.
Done and done. I'm leaving in two weeks. It yells when it gets lonely, so when it starts squeaking I go harrass it until it gets so mad that it can only chew paper. Works for about 30 minutes.

Thumbing your nose at Nature is never a smart move. Then there's the more basic aspect of "Karma" to consider.
(amended) I read a little further down and see where you ADMIT you actually like it. Try recording it's chirping and then play it back when it starts up . Of course, that only DOUBLES the amount of racket, but Hey, I don't have birds, I have a CAT!

We had a cockatiel for years and the only thing that worked, other than my brother throwing coins at it, was to cover its cage with a cloth.

i was going to say the same thing.. our cockatiels only shut up when we covered the cage with a sheet.
