Yeah that reminds of when I was in the medical section walking down a hallway. You could see the shadow of a splicer at the far end, and as I got close to it, ALL the lights went out and then came back on, but the splicer was gone. didn't see the splicer again until it jumped out of a freezer on the wall at me.

Anyone know if its possible to get the "big daddy hypnotize" plasmid without saving those evil little sluts? I harvest them all.

I"m really struggling through this game. The game is great, but I've never been a fan of these types of games. They really make me nervous.

I jumped last night and scared the hell out of my dog. I heard splicer footsteps outside of a door, so I went to the door and opened it to look out. didn't see anything. went back to searching corpses/boxes and heard it again. I went back to look out the door and the freaking spider splicer was standing eye to eye with me.

the game is great but man do I hate spider splicers.

It also made me nervous as hell when I first picked up the shotgun when the room went pitch black.

there's this one part where your in the medical section when you grab something and it causes some smoke to blow behind you. As soon as you turn around a Slicer is right there. Scared the shit out of me.

I was in the area of the dental section that has a turret behind a window shooting down a hallway toward a locked door. I went in to where the turret was and started collecting goodies. I was searching a cabinet in a corner or something and I kept moving without trying to move. I turn around and there was a splicer RIGHT IN MY FACE. I about crapped my pants.

that was the exact same moment I was talking about, forgot it was in the dental section.

I forget exactly when, but there was a moment where you walk into a room with a big light in the middle with some boxes on the ground iirc. When you walk up to it, all the lights go out and everything is black. Thats when you hear the splicers and proceed to crap your pants, and then the lights come on and splicers just keep jumping out at you from the shadows.

I also love the dying animation, especially at the hands of a big daddy. Something about the camera angle I like.

I don't like horror games (save Resident Evil). I tried the demo but it just isn't for me. Looks like everyone who's playing Bioshock loves it though.

Two worlds on the other hand though is getting torn up like none other from everyone I know...

I ended up getting Two Worlds over Bioshock...just cuz I was stressed enough playing COD3. I wanted to get something a little less intense. I'll end up getting BS eventually.

I didn't know what I was getting into and after reading some posts on some of the gaming forums, I was questioning my decision, but after playing the first few hours, I'm thoroughly hooked on Two Worlds. Mind you, it's been awhile since I played Oblivian on the PC, so I've been aching for any kind of RPG...

The voice acting is lame, and some of the in-game storyline elements seem kinda half-assed...but I'm really having fun exploring, leveling, upgrading my armor and weps, and doing my quests. The fighting seems simplistic, at first, but taking on mobs higher than my level is fun.

So this game is totally worth it to me...

I too bought my copy of Two Worlds. The first hour is terrible because you dont know what you are doing and what this button does and so on. But im about 5 hours in and it is really hard to put down. He is right about the voice acting, they have the gayest voices and the gayest lines EVER! But that does not take away from how fun the game actually is! Struggle throught the first hour and you will be hooked also

Torn up as you would tear up a ski slope? Or torn up as in ripping the game in half and throwing it in the trash?

More and more people seem to be having the impressions as stuicidal and bacstar below.

Yeah, I get it now. It appears (as someone else posted above) you get a gift for every 3 LSs you rescue. That means you get a total of 440 Adam (3x80 + 200) for every 3 rescued, plus gifts including plasmids and ammo, as opposed to 480 for harvesting them. Seems like a pretty good deal to me, and honestly I feel better being thanked by them than ending up with a sea slug twitching in my hand.

Assuming you ALWAYS get 200 with each teddy bear. Does anyone know what's contained in the second and third teddy bears? (I know the second contains level 2 of the hypnotize plasmid, not sure what else).

Anyone know approximately how long this game takes to beat? I hope it's not extemely short like Gears was.

Reviews I've read have said 20-25 hours

Took me about 25 hours (on PC). That was exploring EVERY possible place (which is fun and almost always rewarding). And, this time, I'm going to harvest the little sisters instead of rescuing.

Alright, I just rented Bioshock from BB using a coupon. Now I'm going to have to make some time to play it. :)

Regarding big daddies;

Watch and observe their behavior when they don't have a little sister. It will tell you ALOT. I don't want to give out spoilers but I spent a good amount of time just following one around. It's wild. That and having the whole house shake when they moan is kinda nice.

Bioshock is an outstanding game. The graphics are nice and crisp. And just the feeling u get when th lights go out , just makes you say damnit were are they gonna come from. All in all it was awsome the ending is really short, i saved all the little girls, i was wondering if there was an alternate, if so send me a pm if you killed them i wana know what happens. I dont have the time to replay right now, im replaying halo 2 getting ready for SEPT 25.

Tell you a lot about what? Their behavior when they are wandering around is not at all similar to their behavior when you're fighting them, so I'm not sure what you could learn that is of value.

In any event, I haven't had a whole lot of trouble killing the big daddies now that I have some of the more powerful ammo. I've found that an oxygen cylinder thrown at them does a ton of damage. Electric buckshot is great, as is exploding buckshot. Of course the frag grenades work well. Usually when I fight a big daddy I load up all of the best types of ammo for each gun, then I start with shotgun and when I run out of ammo for one gun I switch to another, because reloading takes way too long.

Great Game so far, killed my first Big Daddy... Damn those beasts are hard lol

I also decided to save the little sisters instead of killing them to make the game a tad bit harder, seeing you still get Adam for saving them just half.

I thought the first one was the hardest, mostly because of my lack of good ammo at the time (I basically had to kill him with Incinerate)

It tells you a lot about their behavior. For example...you see a big daddy that doesn't have a little sister....watch what he does, watch where he goes. I won't fight a big daddy unless I have a reward (little sister). It's not worth the price paid in ammo/life.

Observing this behavior will help you is all I'm trying to say. That's what is so mesmorizing about the environment...if you pay attention, you'll be emersed.

What i found out is if you have Electric Bolt (1, 2 or 3) you use that, it stuns them for about 1 sec, get a few loads off with your Machine Gun using Armor piercing rounds, then stun them again with the Electric Bolt. THis is how i have been doing it for all of them and i usually dont/never get hurt by them if i play it right :)

Electric buckshot does the same thing (stuns him for a second), so that's why I start with the shotgun.

Just a bit. You still wind up getting a lot of the Adam back as teddy bear presents.

I rented the game and did a single play-through. Fantastic game, and it definitely has at least a bit of replay value - I found myself wanting to do a second run-through to try harvesting all the girls, grabbing the rest of the achievements, harder difficulty and so forth.

As for the Big Daddies - the trick is using the plasmids and luring them into traps. Just unloading all your weapons into them is a bit wasteful.
