I found this using Google. Hopefully it will help you, XRdirtHead.
"Then I found somewhere with a checklist 'what to do if your motherboard won't POST'. Read read read ... down the bottom it says 'if all else fails, clear your CMOS memory by taking the battery out and shorting out
the CLRTC pins.'
So I look at my A7V manual, and there on the diagram next to the battery is something marked CLRTC -- but on the motherboard itself, there are no pins there, just the solder holes where they're supposed to be!
So I take the battery out again, and use a screwdriver to connect the two solder pads together for a while, in the vain hope of clearing the CMOS.
Put battery back, plug in video and power and keyboard -- turn on power at ATX switch (no activity, but the motherboard light comes on), then turn on front switch -- whirr but no beeps. That can't be good.

Press
reset, nothing.
Turn it off again, poke inside to make sure things are all plugged in (they were), turn it on, BEEP -- it POSTS!
YAY. "
