I thought I would adjust the frequency above 133 to see what would happen...DOH.....I pulled out the battery thinking this would reset the bios back to 100 but no dice....DUH.....now what?

Read your mobo manual on how to reset the CMOS. Usually you just use a jumper to do it.

Clear the CMOS. The manual should tell you how to do this (usually you just move a jumper from one position to another.)

It's labeled CLRTC and is right next to the battery.

You can also just set the dip switches to the correct frequency which will override the BIOS setting.

if you can't find the shorting points in the manual, disconnect the power supply, remove the m/board battery & press the power on switch a few times then reinstall the battery. that should reset the cmos!

I found this using Google. Hopefully it will help you, XRdirtHead. ;)

"Then I found somewhere with a checklist 'what to do if your motherboard won't POST'. Read read read ... down the bottom it says 'if all else fails, clear your CMOS memory by taking the battery out and shorting out
the CLRTC pins.'

So I look at my A7V manual, and there on the diagram next to the battery is something marked CLRTC -- but on the motherboard itself, there are no pins there, just the solder holes where they're supposed to be!

So I take the battery out again, and use a screwdriver to connect the two solder pads together for a while, in the vain hope of clearing the CMOS.

Put battery back, plug in video and power and keyboard -- turn on power at ATX switch (no activity, but the motherboard light comes on), then turn on front switch -- whirr but no beeps. That can't be good. :( Press
reset, nothing.

Turn it off again, poke inside to make sure things are all plugged in (they were), turn it on, BEEP -- it POSTS!

YAY. "
