pfft, I'll still take ya with my 20yo Toyota. ;)

IMHO keep that as a daily and find a real sports car for fun.

Before I got rid of it, as soon as my PT was out of warranty I made it into a bit of a sleeper (it already was a turbo granny mobile). Was fun pissing off ricers when they fell for it.

Just by a BMW car cover, cut holes in it so you can see, and then you'll have a true Bimmer killer for much less.

Hey guys I have a 2009 Ford Focus Coupe (Black + Automatic) and I was thinking of making it into a monster sleeper car.

So far here is what I plan on getting within the next 6-12 months.

1. Steeda Short-Ram Air Intake (I was gonna go CAI, but those aren't too water friendly)
2. FSWERKS Stealth Exhaust
3. F2 Race Header
4. SCT X3 Tuner w/ Custom Tune
5. FRPP 1.5" Suspension Lowering Kit
6. 17" Summer Tyres
7. FSWERKS Stage 2 Turbo Kit

If all my calculations are right, I should be doing something about 260WHP when I finish. This coupled with the light weight car will make it fly.

So what do you guys think, any suggestions?

It's a Focus. It's Automatic. It's NOT a sports car. I bolded everything that I would suggest NOT doing (or reasons for not doing it).

The tune, fine. You can get more power and slightly better fuel economy (it leans out the mixture from the rich / conservative factory setting). Do it at your own risk though. I hope you have an alternate vehicle if something goes wrong, ESPECIALLY if you're thinking of slapping a turbo on this thing.

The short ram intake, by the way, won't do anything for power.

And why compare to a Bimmer when only comparing strait line performance? There are a bazillion cars out there that can out-quarter-mile the Bimmer.

This is what kills me when I'm driving around, some fool always revs their engines up and wants to race from a stop. Yes, yes, I KNOW that your turbocharged-4 banger can whoop my NA I6 ass if we both floor it. Golf clap.

You wanna have a Bimmer killer? You're gonna have to out-perform, out-steer, 50/50 weight distribution, out-corner, get great road feedback, comfortable on long drives, out-quiet, and out-roundel the Bimmer.

You're not going to do that with a Focus and $6k in parts.

The opposite of that is funny as well. People in BMWs out revving and drag racing and out accelerating in straight lines against cheaper slower cars they know have less horsepower and smaller engines (eg: standard 4 banger sedans like Camrys, Accords, Kias, etc).

But when a LS1 or Cobra or something of that caliber hands them their ass, all of the sudden it's all about "well lets throw some twisties in there" after they picked their battle and lost.

Well I decided to go with a SRI instead of an SRI since SRI introduces hotter air so less power. The car sounds much better with it on and I can tell I have a bit more power at higher up RPM ranges! Got it today, here she is:

I had it installed a shop, they charged me $425 for the part and install, I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Should have spent more time on the appropriate forums. $425 for a piece of pipe and the labour to attach some worm gear clamps is in no way, a good deal.

The intake is $195 .... haha.

I think you paid $225 for someone to spend 15 minutes installing a tube, OP. lol.
