If you think you're going to get all that stuff done for $6k when you spent $425 to have an intake installed, you're insane.

$5575 left. Good luck.

I've got the same gen Focus, '08 S Coupe 5spd. They are good handling nice little cars. OP, I hope this is just a troll thread with stolen pics, because you've got the be insane to think any of this is a good idea. The 4-speed auto is a horrendous tranny, and adding power is just going to be asking for failure. I raced a '10 SES Sedan to 80mph (in a 70mph zone, sue me), and I was almost two cars ahead at the end. The thing is THAT_BAD at shift points/shift speed/gearing. Identical motor, the Coupe/manual is about 140lbs lighter than the Sedan/auto, but it still shouldn't be a blowout like that.

To the people talking about the Euro focus, it's not all that unless you've got the ST or RS models, the rest of them are dog slow due to the hugely increased weight from MK1/1.5 to C1 platform. I know because I've had some fun runs with Mazda3s, and even the 2.3L with manual is an even match with my stripped car, and neither of us are fast. The rest of them, 2.3 w/auto, and all of the 2.0s are a lot slower. The Speed3 and new 2.5L do a lot better, and still on the C1 platform that the Euro Focus is on. And once you start talking Turbo Focus (RS/ST/Speed3), well .. $$$$$ for FF 4-banger? No thanks. The Cobalt SS is still going to kick your ass in the FF realm, not to mention tuned SRT-4 Neons. $25k is better spent on a real proper FR layout, the '11 Mustang V6 for example is a lot more capable than any of these FF toys.

I'll e-race you, 4cyl to 4cyl. Post a timeslip when you get one.

There are a handful of Foci out there that can do it, but I can pretty much guarantee that it's not possible without a lot of $ and anything but that 4-speed auto lol.

MR2 FTW

By the time you figure out how to put a V8 in your Focus, I might be retired. And the first time you step on the gas, expect your transmission to grenade.

Regardless, my motor - when stock - made more power than that V8. I'm not stock. Bring it. 😉

There's a Windsor 351 SC swap for the older ZX3 hatches, but I doubt it would work in the '08+. Full FR conversion. Too much $ for what you get though.

I just noticed that he has a header and a turbo kit on the list. Not even your mechanic will be able to pull off that installation, dude...

Save up and buy something thats quicker to begin with.

That's what I say too. A base WRX will have the engine you need $7k for, plus the suspension/brakes/wheels/tires/transmission to handle that power. If you want a sleeper, get a Legacy GT. Nobody will expect a mid-sized sedan to be almost as fast as a WRX.

High miles, but cheaper and better than a modded Focus. 😛
