There is no way this crazy idea is going to work as what people posted before about stocking up on unmarked rounds.

Do you have any idea the burden and cost that would place on the manufacturer of ammo and the agencies responsible for keeping track of what ammo sold to whom?

This is a stupid bill and it needs to be defeated immediately.

This is a bill in the CA legislature. This is not about logic, it is about feeling good and garnering votes from people without reasoning skills, a demographic which seems to be even larger in CA than in the nation as a whole.

I do, and I'm proud of my state for doing things like this.

Have you ever seen a bullet in real life? Just where in the fvck do you think they're going to inscribe a serial number on a .22LR bullet, of which they make hundreds of millions a year and is about the size of a single noodle in a box of Kraft macaroni and cheese? You'd need a freaking electron microscope to read it....

They'd never be able to fit a million transistors on a single chip either I think.

Holy shazit! Seems a wee bit impractical to me. Add to that the fact that it's only in CA, and the runners who run other things will be running ammo, too, if this becomes state law.

The only way this could work as well as they envision is if it was a federal law, or at the least, if there were consistent laws/procedures in an overwheling majority of states.

I?m hoping the ammunition industry tells them to stick this bill in the appropriate orifice by informing the legislature that they will terminate all shipments of handgun ammunition to CA immediately the second that bill passes.

No PD or civilian sales period. All out of state wholesalers should be made to sign contracts banning shipment of handgun ammo to CA in advance of the law going into effect by the suppliers.

That would get their attention.

Stupid ass politicians. Why can't they do what Christ Rock suggest? $5K for a bullet. You gotta be a rich motherfvcker to do drive-bys.

People that "snap" are usually pretty easy to track down, as they tend to leave a lot of witnesses.
