60% of what O'Reilly says is crap.

He's welcome to his craptastic opinions, though ...

Letterman is a douche-nozzle though.

All I'm saying is that O'Reilly really seems to be pretty moderate these days, particularly on the Obama/McCain stuff.
With the Democrats likely to take over the reigns of power, more seem to be tuning into the left wing propaganda ministers of KO. and Maddow. Bill O came in 3rd *K.O. #1 - Maddow #2* in the latest ratings. Me thinks B.O. is trying to appeal to a wider audience now.

That makes sense to me. You can tell BillO is all about the Benjamin$ :) Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Oh well, if it brings a more moderate presence to Fox, that's a good thing IMHO. Too much unchecked blowhard garbage on the air these days. Most of the hot air seems to come from the right, but they certainly don't have a monopoly on gasbags.

Update 10-31-08.

O'Reilly basically called McCain/Palin cowards on today's program. Basically he said that they wouldn't do his show, that they knew that he wouldn't give them softball questions, and that they calculated politically that it was just too risky, and that they should do fluff pieces instead.

Also ongoing with the faint praise for Obama being a pragmatic man, and expects a Bill Clinton mold more than he expects a hard-left kind of guy.

Glenn Beck this morning on the way to work was sitting there calling Obama a COMMUNIST! LOL!

Because Obama is a communist. Nothing wrong with that. I just have a problem with him lying about it.

And he's not a communist because he shared his PB&J. He's a communist because he wants the government to force everyone else to share their PB&J. When someone willingly shares their PB&J, that's charity.

And for an alcoholic, Beck is pretty sharp. He's the only one that was calling this economic mess well before it happened.

Topic Summary: More of a Centrist?

Bill O'Reilly doesn't agree with me. therefore he is a loud mouthed homophobic, racist, hypocritical bigot. The only center he can find is that puckered orifice between his gluteal cheeks, and the only reason he can find it is because that's where he keeps his bloated head.

fixed

Shens on Beck being the only one that was crying wolf about the economy, there were loads of people looking at economic indicators and predicting implosion/recession.

'He's a communist because he wants the government to force everyone else to share'.

Oh, so our existing progressive taxation system makes us communist? That's a laugh.

Everything you earn or have belongs to everyone. And if you complain about it, you get shipped off to prison until the govt. decides to let you out or they kill you. Pretty simple.

HAHAHAHAHA!

Okay, how does that relate to :

(A)- Our current progressive taxation system & penalties for non-payment [supported by both Republicans and Democrats with MINOR difference in big-government authoritarian ethos]

and

(B)- Obama's proposed changes in tax scale (ie; slightly more taxes for $250k+ income, same taxes for $200-$249k, less taxes for those under $200k, and tax credits (a la EITC) for those in the lowest income spectrums.

I seldom listen much to talk radio, as I find it exhausting after more than a few minutes of listening to arrogant and/or single-minded idiots parroting the same crap back and forth.

That said, of recent months, I tune in to Rush, BillO, Glenn, Savage etc, just to see what's out there.

Glenn, Savage and Rush : total raging bullshit from start to finish. Almost unlistenable outside of comedic value. Absolutely zero actual content aside from rage, anger, fear, and a complete slant.

BillO, OTOH, while decidedly carrying more RNC talking-point baggage than necessary, seems to be pretty moderate really. His usually even-toned presentation, tone, and surprising open-mindedness (ie; not being 100% certain 100% of the time that all (R)'s are right, and all (D)'s are wrong, indeed admitting to be unsure of many things) really took me off guard.

To add to that, the tone of his callers are a about a MILLION times more even-handed than any of the other major talk shows that I listened to. People seemed much more ready to have a fair discussion rather than go into foam-at-the-mouth rants.

Any other opinions? I don't watch the Oreilly show on Fox, so I can't comment there.

YOU may be right... I actually saw BIll O on letterman the other night and he said the credit problem is not the fault of the dems or the reps its both.

Dems wanted to loosen rules to lend to poorer people, and have it regulated... The reps were againts lowering the rules, but also against regulation after it passed... So it was just a bad combo, the dems lowering of standarrds and the reps anti-regulation policies killed us.

That sounds pretty straightforward to me, and decidedly non-partisan.

The more I read that, not much.LOL

I like watching BillO, he is fair. I loved what he did to Barney Frank. And Barney wasn't the only one deserving of the rant, there are a few repubs that need it too.
