What it comes down to, in my opinion, is this .. The guy should not be trying to kill people in his front yard, it's attempted murder. It's illegal. Period. It's NOT okay to start firing for multiple reasons. BUT, if I were in the same situation I would have responded the same way, and I don't fault him in any way(except for the fact that he's breaking the law) for it. My ethical/lawful side says it was very wrong, my compassionate/understanding side wants to buy the guy a drink. What he did was wrong .. but obviously the cops aren't going to bust him for it (article said he wasn't going to be charged) so it looks like he may have at least laid down the law a little.
