Bill Clinton met with AG Loretta Lynch privately in Phoenix

Nobody knows what was said in that meeting except those two.

Meeting like that definitely creates the appearance of impropriety. Anyone that things otherwise is a sub-moron.

In the past, that's all libs ever needed to convict a non lib. 'The seriousness of the charge dictates that we do something' yada yada yada.

No doubt there was some small talk - grand kids, Brexit...

Anyone that thinks the investigation didn't come up in some form is a sub-moron.

Given statement 1, this is obviously unprovable, but given the nature of the Clintons it's highly likely. The Clintons are slime and anyone with 2 functioning brain cells knows this.

None of the above is pro republican or pro Trump.

Lynch is know on both sides as a no nonsense law enforcement officer. If Bubba tried to bring it up she would cut it off.

If Bill was really was trying to influence the AG, why the hell would he do it so publicly? He's a better politician than that.

My take on this thread:

Agreed. Righties love to gossip about their conspiracy theories.

Sometimes it turns into unwitting self-parody that reveals the absurdity of their underlying assumptions.

Like this thread.

Serious question, if his goal was to somehow influence her decision in regards to that why on earth would he meet her in such an obvious fashion? Do you really think Bill Clinton is that stupid?

No, I think Bill is actually brilliant. Best President in my lifetime. I'd vote for him in 2000 if given another chance and we didn't have term limits. That said I think he is that brazen.

The one thing I am really not looking forward to with a Clinton presidency is the revival of the insane and ridiculous conspiracy theories. This is just the start.

Of course those theories would have a harder time having any basis if the Clintons didnt do things like run personal email servers while being Secretary of State that spark an investigation and then meet with the person doing the investigating. It is all a giant smear campaign made up out of thin air with this couple.

So you genuinely think that Bill Clinton has decided to attempt obstruction of justice, a felony, by publicly and obviously altering his schedule to corrupt the nation's top law enforcement officer in the middle of an airport?

Seriously?

I think we both know that isn't true. How many people has she supposedly murdered at this point according to conservatives? Meeting with her was probably not smart on his part, specifically because it invites conspiracy theories like this one. That doesn't make it less crazy though.

Knowing Bill I think it's more likely he was attempting a booty call of Lynch than to try to influence her about Hillary. Now getting a first-hand update of the status of said investigation is another thing and any intel provided would likely be more useful to Hillary at this point

Seriously indeed. You can talk about an issue and influence something without "obstruction of justice". I have no clue what exactly they talked about, but the idea that he would ever be charged with obstruction of justice for trying to influence Lynch is laughable. Further, he is (or was, until he got busted for lying under oath) a lawyer, so I'm sure he knows what you can and cannot say.

It's what is intriguing about the meeting though. Bill Clinton is a lot of things, but "dumb" is not one of them. Like just about every male on the planet he sometimes did some dumb things by letting the little head decide instead of the big head, but he's not dumb. He knows this meeting would not be secret, so he knows the optics. Yet he still wanted to have a private 30 minute discussion with the very woman at the top of the office in charge of investigating his wife. What could they possibly have to talk about that would be so important, yet not involve the investigation??

They were discussing the cover-up of Vince Foster's death. Foster was really an alien from the planet Morbag plotting to replace the government with ants made disguised as humans. But he was foiled by Hilary. The government is covering it up so the public isn't afraid of the alien/ant conspiracy. These were the "missing" emails deleted by Clinton from her server containing evidence of communication with other world leaders of the illumaniti. Area 51 is a secret research base where these advanced ants are studied.

The people who want Hillary indicted (mainly because they can't win at the polls any other way) will say it's political decision if she isn't anyways. They are common mode noise.

Who knows? I think that people spinning up a conspiracy to influence the investigation solely due to them talking without any evidence from any other source to corroborate it is pretty silly. Like I said, I'm really not looking forward to whatever other conspiracies take hold and you know there will be a shitload.

How does Bill Clinton get right wing conspiracy theorists to reveal themselves as idiots?

He just gives them an opportunity to throttle up the crazy train.

Black is white and white is black eh. He is the one coming off as crazy for doing this. I don't blame the conspiracy guys for seeing this the way they do, not all conspiracies are false (cointelpro anyone?).

It only takes minutes to make a request and hand over a bag of cash. 😉
IF Bill was going to do something, don't you think he'd do it, oh, I dunno, via a phone call that no one would know about, rather than in public in front of everyong? You guys are grasping at straws. The ONLY evidence you have is two people met. Oh, and of course, if Hillary isn't indicted, you'll use that as the smoking gun. Give me a break.

I find the liberals dismissing the optics here to be breathtaking. To nobody on earth with an ounce of rational intellect would this look good. To look at the event without knowing what was said and concluding BC wasn't seeking some political advantage is as conspiratorial as to say that he was. There is nothing but partisanship coloring the views on both sides. But one cannot deny the facts of appearance. No sane mind operates on tha notion that if it walks like a duck it's a rose. The press shoul ask what the purpose of the meeting was.

Which leads to a funny story I heard. When Arnold Schwarzenegger was Govorner he didn't realize that all his phone calls were recorded and public record. Some leaked out with some regular guy talk between him and Tom Arnold. Going forward they would have their respective assistants call each other because the assistants were friend in real life too. Arnold and Tom would then speak loudly in the back ground while they were on speaker.

Above is a simple example how people can communicate.

I dunno a former President having a word with the current AG doesn't sound that odd to me.

Assuming all Clinton/Lynch talked about was grandkids, weather, etc . It didn't need to be private. At the very least it was stupid judgement by Clinton and Lynch. Clinton's wife is midway thru an election year and also under FBI investigation. How in the hell does this help his wife?

All I have to say is 'splain this!

His wife is under FBI investigation and Bill meets with the only person who can indict Hillary. Seems highly inappropriate, especially to those of us who have been following the news. This doesn't look right, frankly I think it smells like a back room shady deal.

Yes, b/c they couldn't talk on the phone but have to meet in person. Wow, you are an elite retard.

So the conspiracy theorists need to prove nothing while non-conspiracy theory believers need to prove a negative.

Or belief in conjecture as fact is as rational as refusal to engage in it.

Or you're having a great time leading the fools onward.

I take it you don't pay attention to NSA, Snowden, etc...
Do you know what speech to text is?
Your spoken words are saved as text in a searchable database.

If you want someone to know, you say it over the phone.

There's no proof to support, or refute, your claim. But they sure as heck weren't talking about grandkids for 30 minutes. If she was as no nonsense as you claim, she wouldn't have let him on the plane. She let herself get caught in an appearance of impropriety. That would sink the career of your average republican.

Sounds shady alright. Talking about kids and BREXIT.

Maybe the FBI should investigate. :hmm:
lol Who doesn't believe that story?

Oh, right. Everybody.

Obviously they are strategerizing. I can't be surprised or really upset. Almost all of us know that Obama is never going to indict Hillary. Most of us understand there isn't really a practical path to such indictment, under any President. So probably she's just making sure the Clintons are telling the same details that she intends to tell. Worst case, she has uncovered something unignorable regarding the Clinton Family Foundation and is meeting privately (i.e. with no document trail) to let him know they need to revise some filing or statement to make it innocuous and/or legal so that the FBI can discover their own "error". More likely she's nearing completion and is briefing Bill so that the Hillary camp is prepared with their best spin.

Or maybe she doesn't care what the looney tunes think.

You might want to read up on Lynch before making scurrilous accusations-

It is not a conspiracy to associate two unrelated data points that, when evaluated under the same context, suggest a conflict of interest.

Given the FBI investigation and Lynch's position of power in acting on its results, do you see how some people might consider it inappropriate for Bill Clinton, as a former President and heavily influential leader in the party, to meet in private with said person?

If a former governor's wife was under investigation for a crime, and the governor held a closed door meeting with the prosecution while that investigation was still ongoing, don't you think some people would cry foul, especially if the prosecution ended up dropping the charges?
