Nice! Another Ksyrium ES rider. How do you like them?

Does Mavic make bladed spokes that work with the Power Tap hub?

Edit-I like your sig. ;)

Lots of cool bikes in here. I like the tour-de-france looking ones.

I want a bike like that so I can ride around easily (streets and such), not a heavy mountain bazooka.

I'm about to jump on SD craigslist but before I do, any advice? What to look for?

Oh, and obligatory :camera: of the bike I ride every day. Text

Look out for guys selling stolen bikes. Ask questions, know what you're looking at, and if the guy selling the bike doesn't seem to know much about the bike I wouldn't buy it.

I might upgrade to EC90 or American Classic Deep-V for that very reason. I've posted a few times that I am training for a sponsor. Richardson Bike Mart would be amazing, since they ride S-Works. I'd like to find a LBS Cannondale dealer looking to expand their team.

As for the Mavics, I love them. The Specialized trainer also has Mavics, Ksyrium Equipes.

I'd really recommend hitting up a local bike shop first and at least getting measured up properly. Getting a frame that's too big/small can ruin the ride for you. Also, if you find a good shop that sells used, they'll generally throw in some kind of first year maintenance or something similar. Finding a shop you can trust is key. Even if you do the maint yourself, you still need to get parts from somebody!

Living in San Diego, you have lots of bikes to look at.

So do you want a road bike? Hybrid?

I am looking (haha get it) at picking up a Look 566. I understand the geometry is a bit unusual since they are trying to push the whole comfort + race bike angle. appreciated. The TT numbers along with fit calculators puts me between a S (51) and M (53). Should I go larger or smaller? I don't have any experience with Look so any help would be.

S (51) TT = 52.6
M (53) TT = 54.2

Note, I believe the numbers in the parenthesis next to the frame size is the CT seat tube measurement. The numbers I've provided for the TT is measured parallel to the ground, not along the tube.

Inseam: 78.83 cm
Forearm: 33.75cm
Total height: 173cm

I promise to come back with links and pictures about my bike as to not derail this thread.

Another winter rider! Nice! What tires do you run and where do you live?

they are schwalbe marathon cross 38c. I live in Northern VA so we don't have bad winters. It was still rough last year. My friends bet me i couldn't go a year without a car. so i biked about 7k miles from 5/8 - 5/9.

Nice. I bought a set of Nokian Hakkapellita 106s almost 3 years ago and they still look great. Hardly any wear on them at all, even with all the skidding I've done on the rear. They're a great set of tires, just a bit heavy is all. I sold my truck 2 years ago last month and haven't looked back yet. I'm thinking about running a studless cross tire in the rear to lighten the bike up this winter but I haven't decided yet. I suppose my budget will make that decision for me come winter as well.

nice surly, i really would love a steamroller or karate monkey fixed. they make great bikes. where do you live?

Thanks. I live in Minneapolis, MN. Home of the Surley bike company and Surley brewing company (well, the 'burbs anyway - I live in Minneapolis proper though). Who could ask for more? I rocked some pretty awesome beardsickles last winter!

I've heard Schwalbe makes a nice studded tire as well. You just can't find them up here. Anybody who rides studs in the winter uses Nokians in some form. Mine are 700x35c and they sound bad ass on dry pavement!
