I love how if I have an opinion that differs from others, such as showing a bit of intolerance towards a group of people that are living a lifestyle that I disagree with, I will be called out as a Bigot, loon, fundie, etc. and basically belitted. Aren't those that do that also Bigots because they can't seem to tolerate my group of people who disagree with them?

The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines a bigot as a person who is ?obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially: one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance.? Clearly, there is a distinction between bigotry and moral views. Bigotry cannot simply refer to holding opinions or being in possession of moral precepts, for if it did, everyone but sociopaths would have to be considered bigots because everyone but sociopaths holds certain behaviors as moral and others as immoral. Moreover, ?prejudice? refers to ?an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.?

That's the thing, it seems that people who can't defend themselves logically just reflect upon themselves by just saying "you aren't thinking logically or you are a Bigot" because they don't agree with you. It's like, they are just as guilty by acting that way, because they are essentially acting intolerant of the opinoins of those they dont agree with. So they are equally bigoted.

I don't think gay people will burn in hell at all. While I do think homosex is sinful and deviant, I don't even begin to hold it in the same regard as rape, murder, theft, etc. I just think it's deviant.

You have a really negative twist on that anyway. My group says that this life is to learn about life, develop your soul and conciousness, and be ready to move on to something greater, where as your group says nothing really matters anyway because people = shit

I don't think Hitler is burning in hell either. And no, nothing really matters. Thats why people of power create gods, to reign in people and avoid chaos. Some use it for good, others enjoy having power.

So you'd dress up the ugly truth rather than face the realities and find a real way to deal with the problems?

I'd much rather know for sure that this is the only life we get, because while I might enjoy a few freedoms that are deviant from the absurd morality... I most certainly would work harder to help create a better life for any kids I have and the next generation.

Heh, I'm no saint. And I think it would be best an argument of morality as you mentioned vs religion. Nobody has exactly the same stance on morality. And my point was that if everybody showed intolerance for other peoples views of morality (which the pro-homosexual movement is the worst about) then EVERYONE would be a bigot.

I think people who pull the Bigot card are just as bad as those that pull the race card.
