Don't worry. Deep down people that love to use that word are the most bigoted people there are. It's a double edge sword - if you don't agree with somebody's outlook just call them a bigot.

By using that logic the person using that word is even MORE bigoted because they are unaccepting of views that don't agree with them. So you'll find the most intolerant of all people are the ones that use words like "you're a bigot" or "you're a hater".

And my point was that if everybody showed intolerance for other peoples views of morality (which the pro-homosexual movement is the worst about) then EVERYONE would be a bigot.

I think people who pull the Bigot card are just as bad as those that pull the race card.

Yet you keep pulling it?

Btw, there is no pro-homosexual movement. There is a huge anti movement though.

No homosexual movement... hahahahah thats funny. You're pretty blind if you don't see the ultra lib, pro homo agenda.

BTW, I only call people Bigots as a joke and a poke back at someone who called me one. I never used it as a defense.

Well?

No, buy the logic I see to excuse others for calling people they disagree with as bigots.

I don't know what you just said
I disagree with KKK-style racism, and don't care to associate with people who follow it (and I would call them bigots)--am I a bigot?

Certainly there are anti-religious bigots. But disagreeing with you and calling you a bigot make a person a bigot.

Using the term that way it is thrown around here, yes, you would be a bigot. But the whole point is I am arguing against using that term as a way to say you dont agree with someone.

If I step into a debate and I say I don't agree with the morality of some others, it seems 99% of the time they will jump and call me a bigot. I think it's a weak response and a sign of defensiveness.

You'd think someone as bigoted as you would be able to handle a little bigotry.

Didn't your parents ever teach you the golden rule?

Omg, people call me names at school all the time when they see me talking to women. "You fucking HETERO" Then the chest bump and high five each other and snicker at me. It's terrible. When I told my moms I was going to marry a woman, they said that they would disown me. Over time, they are ok with it, but we're still not the same.

what if the person you are calling a bigot really is one? does pointing out a fact make you bigot? damn thing is confusing.

i never understood why you would want to waste energy/time/money on hateing someone because of who they fuck, what god (if any) they prey to or what color they happen to be.

Well, that WOULD be the definition of a pro-homosexual movement.
Now, pro-homosexual-acceptance movement, yeah. Because it's stupid to think gays are anything other than normal people. Personally, I don't care if anyone wants to think gays will burn in hell or whatever, as long as they have the decency to keep it to themselves.
It's in bad taste to tell anyone that they're going to hell because of the way they were born.
And before anyone tries to trot out the old "It's a choice!" chestnut, they'd better not, unless they've decided to be gay for a day or two so they know what it's like.
