I should of taken school more seriously back when I was younger.
Staying with somebody for 7 years, not working out and ending up losing my best friend.

Selling my 1945 Batman #27 a few years ago because I needed $200. It also had sentimental attachment, as I bought it on a non-eBay auction site, back in the early days of online auctions, for $100 (worth $400) because the site had no traffic. I'd like to find that exact issue on eBay again and buy it back.

It's worse that what everyone here has posted for sure. I stabbed a friend of mine in the back (not literaly). I still have dreams about it 5 or 6 nights a week.

apoppin, you remind me of the time I was body surfing in Hanama bay in a Kona storm as a little boy. I kept going out and getting rolled over and over on the sand inside the waves when they broke over my head. Every time I was at my wits end when I finally washed up on the beach enough to breathe. Did it over and over till it finally dawned on me there was gonna be a time real soon when I wouldn't make it. Slow learner.

I think most people have a single mistake that "haunts" them - perhaps buried "somewhere" - that is a source of much regret.

Yep, there is one. I think I chose the wrong profession. The more I work in this field (a little more than 1 year as of now) the more I feel dissatisfaction. When I'm at work I feel OK and I think that my job is important, it just requires to be too much concentrated and technical but I don't know what else I could do. I don't know why I picked my trade, I can't explain but it happened. Every day I think about what else I could do but nothing has come to mind yet.

OK, here's just 2 "standouts":

One: getting SEVERLY sunburned as a youngster . . . I now take extra precautions in the sun and worry about skin damage and. . . .

Two: going out surfing in HUGE "building" surf conditions that my gut told me was too big for my "abilities" and almost drowned . . . I was so affected by this experience that I taught myself to forecast the surf and even got a job as a professional surf forecaster (the second "part" was not a "mistake" but a reaction to almost getting drowned).

Anyone, else?

You work for surfline, by any chance?

Two big ones:

There were two girls whom I liked (not at the same time..) that I got too involved with for what it's worth (who doesn't have a story like that?), hurt myself in the end.

The other BIG regret I have (not really a mistake) is not keeping in touch with people that I should've. When I was young (and I mean young!) my mom had a friend who got in at Intel. Since I didn't have a computer at the time (10 yrs old about), he couldn't hook my up with any parts, so he brought me keychains, pens, cool little Intel promo stuff. My mom told me to stay in touch with him, but I never did (cause they stopped hanging out). Last I heard, he moved out to Silicon Valley, and he's probably moved way up at Intel 🙁 I would've been so set for a job after school had I maintained contact 🙁

Ouch...

i decided to do an MBA instead of a MS or PhD. I am still regretting that decision now because when I look at my career so far, I realise that I would have made an excellent researcher instead of a medicore manager. 🙁

Nope . . . retired surf forecaster. 😀

I used to work for Surf News Network, Hawaii.
(I'm on the Mainland now and forecast for myself and friends.)

Dont blame your shitty life on drugs. Quit pointing the finger, and admit what the REAL problem is.

I get SO tired of people passing the buck...Oh but drugs ruined my life...oh but hot coffee burned my nuts...Oh but McDonalds gave me the fat ass.
No.
Your immaturity ruined your life, your bad driving spilled the coffee and your laziness gave you a fat ass.

Umm, I guess that would be my relationship w/ my parents. Started off very bad, and it'll never get any better. Why? Because I dont care for it to get better right now.
