BIGGEST Mistake?

Everyone makes mistakes. Some have much more serious consequences than others.

WHAT "mistake" do you regret making most? (Did you let that "special girl" get away?; or miss that job interview?; or miss an investment? or . . . ?)

I dont really have a biggest mistake. Sure, I've made a hell of alot of them, but I've also learned from them. THings I wouldnt have learned had I not made them.

I think most people have a single mistake that "haunts" them - perhaps buried "somewhere" - that is a source of much regret.

What happened?

I've made various mistakes, but I avoided a couple of major ones thankfully, so nothing super big in my past.

Two big ones:

There were two girls whom I liked (not at the same time..) that I got too involved with for what it's worth (who doesn't have a story like that?), hurt myself in the end.

The other BIG regret I have (not really a mistake) is not keeping in touch with people that I should've. When I was young (and I mean young!) my mom had a friend who got in at Intel. Since I didn't have a computer at the time (10 yrs old about), he couldn't hook my up with any parts, so he brought me keychains, pens, cool little Intel promo stuff. My mom told me to stay in touch with him, but I never did (cause they stopped hanging out). Last I heard, he moved out to Silicon Valley, and he's probably moved way up at Intel 🙁 I would've been so set for a job after school had I maintained contact 🙁

OK, here's just 2 "standouts":

One: getting SEVERLY sunburned as a youngster . . . I now take extra precautions in the sun and worry about skin damage and. . . .

Two: going out surfing in HUGE "building" surf conditions that my gut told me was too big for my "abilities" and almost drowned . . . I was so affected by this experience that I taught myself to forecast the surf and even got a job as a professional surf forecaster (the second "part" was not a "mistake" but a reaction to almost getting drowned).

Anyone, else?

My biggest mistake was dring too fast in the snow in a 4 wheel drive truck and I hit a tree at 40 MPH. I was killed on impact.

I got better.

Wow that sucks, glad to hear you're better tho! At least you didn't suffer when you died

The first time I ever did drugs, had I known at the time the hell that my life would become, and the continuing effects....

Screwing things up with this awesome girl from hs. She and I were great friends but I had to go and ask her out. That was almost 3 years ago. We did go out to lunch last Thanksgiving weekend tho, so who knows what the future holds.

I TOLD YOU THAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU KEPT WHORING YOURSELF ON THE CORNER!

Staying in contact with my Uncles wife (he lost some marbles after my grandfather (his father) died).
Being an antisocial jack@ss.

The easiest one to mention is going through 2 major repairs of of an old Civic for $2,400 and selling it for $300 a year later. I'm getting sad and angry as I type this.

after looking for 2 months, buying an automatic instead of a 6-speed because I couldn't find a decent 6-speed 🙁

I once ruined the carpet in my basement.

Note to self - don't demolish toy cars using a hammer when you're on short carpet. 🙂
