Big spider!

Just killing about the killing, but it did kinda suprise me. Biggest spider I've seen in a while, in Chicago anyway.

Anyone know what it is?

yeah it looks like the "Inaccessible" type. :) and aint no girl gonna come to your house to help you kill no spider pansy!

It's a jumping spider, Phidippus audax. Looks like a male. These guys are the coolest. They have metallic green chelicerae and bright red fangs if you ever get close enough to see.

It's bite is painful, but harmless. If its presence bothers you just scoop it up onto a newspaper and let it go outside. They're really useful predators to have around, and they're one of the greatest marvels of the natural world.

Or you could just squish it.

nah, i'm not a big squisher, i poped it into a bottle, looked at if for a bit and released it back out into the wild, my deck.

:)

My gf would probably go completely insane if she saw a spider like that. She freaks out when she sees a MOTH. As a result, I have to squish things (but in a way so that there aren't any guts stuck to the wall).
