Big News for Intel Huh ?

This is a hugh deal for Intel. Intels first move will be no doubt putting SSE4 optimizations into the havok software. Havok is presently used in over 150 of the Best games around.

Intel will be able to heavely optimize for Larrobee .

Intel may have leverage now to force NV. to allow SLI on Intel M/B.

What is Intels next move? Buy Ageria . Than intels owns the world of gaming pyhisics. It would also be a good fit with HavoK.

Man intels is on a roll . Intels share in VMware is hugh and those investment dollars have gone up by 3x in less than a year. I am sure intel being such a large share owner in VM ware the it will be optimized for intel cpu's . I don't know if SSE4 will benefit VM ware but it should . We know it will in games.

Go Intel Go Bring us what we want

As I said in another thread.
They better not screw up havok for 3d animation designers.
I will be one pissed off person if they do.

I've heard rumors that Havok was working on a version of their physics package that could utilize CUDA rather than just SM 3.0 like Havok FX. Wonder if this might have affected Intel's decision.

Next, Intel buys nVidia. Then AMD goes out of business, forcing us to buy $4000 computers =.=

Yeah , reminds me of the AT&T breakup.
Slowly incorporating everything they "broke up"

Intel releasing Conroe at its price range is the reason for the prices we have now. Intel is still making good $$. On 45nm they will make even more at yet even lower prices. Let us not forget if AMD leads in performance were prices will go ^

This could bode well for better-optimized physics processing, but it is a bit worrying, since AMD is already so far behind. With the incoming release of Penryn (which will likely beat down Barcelona/Phenom), I don't know if AMD can catch up.

I only care about getting the job done . Intel is doing it . Advancing tech in gaming is a great move by intel . Intel hasHavok AMD has ATI . I bet intel didn't pay 5 billion for havok. When its all over with Intel will buy NV for a song and a dance.

Sorry Keys. But I was reading at XS news thread. And fugger said he was showing and O/C system at IDF on the 18 th. I hardly think AMD would have wrote K10= K5 x2. That looks like a box Fugger would put together.

The guy I am buying my new pc from will be at IDF . He says that He has a chance of showing nehalem @ spring IDF in one of his boxes . From what I have seen he will get to show nehalem . But its not final yet.

Huh? Who said AMD would write K10= K5 x2? Just an Intel uber-fan/soon to be ex Intel employee would do. And that box could have been made by anyone on the planet (almost). hehe. Anyone with access to a Halloween shop in September.

My point is, I wouldn't say anything further based on that eight seconds of anonymous video.
Just forget it and wait for IDF. 3 days away.

Everthing you said is true. except the ex intel employee . Those scores did look good tho . I am betting that is fuggers system its just so like fugger. I am sure he had Intels blessings.

I'm counting the days until you get banned. At least other viral marketers like Rollo were more discrete, you are just blatant.

In your hyped marketing you don't realize that you write english like a nigerian. I see no difference between your posts, and those nasty emails I get once in a while.

At the same time I enjoy reading your posts, they bring a spritz of humour to my days. You will be missed once you are gone.

Self proclaimed Elitist Guru gets one week off for personal attacks.
1 week off. You have been warned before about personal attacks, and there is a huge sticky at the top of the CPU forum and it should carry over to this one.. ZERO personal attacks.

Intel doesn't want AMD to go down either. It is monopoly insurance. I could see Intel execs saying 10-15% AMD marketshare while lagging almost one generation behind is "acceptable". 20-25%? AMD is just being greedy from an Intel perspective. 😛

Since AMD is still causing major havok in the server space, this fight will go on for a while!

Looks like the Havoc Engine might go into the fixed function unit in the architecture shown at the end.

Did you read the forum at the end of the article. You seem very perseptive. Read that than Google . Elbrus the the russian company that Intel bought in 05.

Here is just 1 link its old but very good info . Now if you read the Forum info on that other link . and some of the questions asked. Than read this and you will see a very strong picture developing . This stuff is so cool.

Read about the compiler and what its capable of . It s really eye opening. I won't go into as I don't have my flame suite on . But your smart. You'll get it.

You will also note this is not an X86 compiler so AMD doesn't get free ride anymore. But look at what it can do . great stuff . Intel has all its ducks lined up in a row.
