I went into EB today and picked up my Zelda: OOT disk. So if you pre-ordered it, they will probably let you have it before Sunday.

If you get the Mario package, do you still get the free game? As in, spend $159 and get Mario AND Metroid with the GC? Sorry if this has been asked, but this thick thread is scary to wade through. :)

I'm wondering if you could do the same thing @ Target somehow and get the extra 2 games with the $50 rebate as well..

I tried this at Target, but the clerk wouldn't do it. YMMV, some people have reported doing this at Target and BB. Your other option is to buy it online from Circuit City. CC is offering a $50 rebate when you buy a GC console (including the Mario Sunshine bundle) and one of the four give-away games, plus shipping is free.

So the total price is $159 with Mario Sunshine, then you get a $50 rebate and a free game -- or you just get the Mario Bundle and a free game @ $159? The latter is still pretty good, but the Target deal mentioned would've been a little better because I could get two $19.99 titles free, too. Thanks again.

Grrrreat thread. I'm going to post a pretty controversial question. I'm pondering the purchase of either a Gamecube or an Xbox. Opinions abound on which of these systems is "better". But, I haven't found any good recent "shootout" style reviews. Anybody have any good links to offer?

Let's not drag out a debate on the topic here, but please send me personal messages with good links. I'll post the same request to the Xbox deal thread for a balanced answer. Thanks!

For clarification, I don't think you can get a free game at CircuitCity.com and the rebate. The rebate is what makes the game free, and is only for online purchases. Unless there's an exploit I'm missing?

Now if only the Mario Sunshine bundle wasn't Purple.

Target has the following games w/ a 251 Official NIntendo Gamecube Mem Card for $49.99.

Starfox Adventures
Mario Sunshine
Animal Crossing (hmmm, I wonder if this has the 51 Mem card also... I believe it does)
Metroid Prime
Mario Party 4

Pretty good deal seeing as the cheapest you can get a 251 card is $15, meaning the game is only $35.

No go for any of the 2K3 games @ EBGames B&M. They do have 50% off any Mad Catz or Brady Strategy Guide w/ purchase of another one though.

Its 251 blocks, not 256 megs. Its really like 4-8 megs. The largest ive seen is 64 megs which holds like over 1000 blocks.

My local Best Buy had a bunch of Hip Gear 4MB memory cards for only $4.99. I've never heard of them before, but I picked one up. This might be a local deal though, since they aren't even listed on their site. I'm in Fargo, ND.

just went to Fry's, they have Wave Race for $19.90 normal price, the .90 means discontinued/clearance, so get them while they last. They also had Rayman Arena, NCAA Football 2K3, and Blood Omen 2 for $19.99 (there were some others but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head)

It's better to buy the combo at the B&M because you get the free game immediately whereas CC.com charges you for both items and makes you send in a stinking rebate form to get your money back for the game.

i got CC to PM EBGames for NBA2k3 for 15 bucks... so after 110% it comes out to be 11.49+tax

definitely a hot deal for one of the best basketball simulations in the market
but it was kind of tricky to get the PM tho because I had to buy a copy of NBA2k3 at EB by gettin them to PM their own online store.... then show CC the receipt and online printout at the same time to get the PM... kinda tricky.... so definitely YMMV on this 1

In today's circular, K-mart actually has a warm-ish deal for once. If you prepay for LoZ: The Wind Waker (I think it might be $10 down), for $54.99, you get the pre order bonus disc, the game, and the guide (once the last 2 are released). If you can land a $5 off $50 coupon from a closing K-mart, it's basically like getting the game with the bonus and guide for free.

I don't think the mem card + game deal has ended. They were packaged together in one those clear hard plastic boxes, so it wasn't really a promotion. Said it was target exclusive. It was on the shelves, not with the other games.

Saw Animal Crossing and the free memory card this afternoon in a blister pack. Nice deal for those looking to get any of those games. I already had Animal Crossing or I might have bought it. Looks like a limited supply/time deal so hurry to your Target if you want one.

Toys R' Us has the following for $199.96.

Gamecube System - 1 Controller
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee
Disney Sports Skateboarding
Intec Star Kit (I can't see it clearly, but 3rd party... controller, 4mb mem card, extension cable, case? I dunno).

May be worth checking out if you can get the free Nintendo game along with it or if you can change the games. :p

Yes, it's a shame that Sega has all but abandoned the Cube, but I think that the Gamecube by design is intended to be a budget system. If Sega can't hang with that, then good riddance to them. I did however pick up NBA and NFL 2K3, because they are worth $15.

Well, Sega hasn't actually abandoned the cube, but they did more or less stop their future Sega Sports support. But even EA sports said they were struggling on the console.

I heard Sega may be selling off their sports team totally , so no more sega sports for any system..... (Visual Concepts) Microsoft may be the buyer, or 989 sports...
