The announcement of the new Player's Choice titles comes in conjunction with an official press release by Nintendo in which it confirms that beginning February 9 it will offer a free game with the purchase of GameCube.

I don't know if that announcement means that the games will be reduced February 9. I read it as just saying that the announcement was made at the same time as the other announcement.

For no particular reason I thought I'd mention that for some reason last year Pikmin dropped in price for awhile, kind of everywhere, and then when back up to the standard $49.99.

Kind of like it was a value title for a little while then for one reason or another it reverted to being an a-list title again.

Just thought it was interesting, well not that interesting I guess.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I also remember when Nintendo was also giving out coupons (I think they were $10 or $15 off) for buying Pikmin. I actually was expecting to get Pikmin for $25 sometime during Christmas season 2002, but wherever I looked last week I saw a big $50 tag on it. The next one I'd like to see discounted is Star Fox adventures, but I think it will be a while yet.

I just picked up Resident Evil 0, Animal Crossing, and the Broadband Adapter from dragon.ca for less than 100 bucks shipped. The site is offering a 30% discount on all their items using coupon code "DISC". You can even pre-order the new Legend of Zelda: The Wind Walker due out the 23rd of March using the code.

I've dealt with dragon.ca before and even though they are based in Canada, they ship fairly quick. I suggest paying the extra 3 bucks for priority shipping instead of ground. So 30% off and no catches? Well there is a small one if you even consider it a catch. I received an e-mail from dragon.ca and because they are receiving an overwhelming amount of orders, they estimate that orders will not be processed until Wednesday.

You also want to be careful about the final price. Dragon.ca calculated my total order to be somewhere around 90 dollars. I found some currency converter on the web and my total actually wound up to be about 10 dollars more. Still a great deal for two games and the adapter. I just hope Nintendo comes out with more online games so I can use the darn thing!

Also, if the site takes a long time to load, be patient! Seems like a lot of people are already getting in on this deal, crowding up the servers and slowing down the site's response time. If you're a gamer like me, get in on this deal. BTW, this is my first post. :D

Ah crap. Just found this deal further down the Hot Deals Forum. So much for a first post.

I just went to Best Buy today and picked up Beach Spikers for $9.99 and Eternal Darkness for $19.99.

Beach Spikers wasn't out on the rack, so I had to ask a salesperson for its availability. He went on the computer and checked up bestbuy.com, but I told him it wasn't going to be listed. He checked anyway. Afterwards, he went to the inventory listing and found it. It took him a good five minutes to get into and out of the storage room. I'm pretty sure this store still has a plenty amount of Beach Spikers left (18 copies) if I was reading the inventory screen correctly. This store is located in the Buffalo/Amherst, NY area (store #459, zip code 14228).

Also...
NBA Courtside 2002 is $19.99 at Best Buy.

I've checked the BestBuy in Dublin, and the guy said they've been sold out of Beach Spikers for about 2 months now. :(

Got in on Eternal Darkness at BB for 19.99.
Also, they had about 100 copies of SSX Tricky for 14.99, which is less than I have seen everywhere else. No Beach Spikers though.

This was Rego Park, NY

Thanks for the update. It was very useful considering the Rego Park BB is the one I go to. I can get Eternal Darkness and SSX now. :)

Just saw a bunch of Metroid Primes at the Torrance (Los Angeles) Sam's Club. Hopefully they still scan in at $29.

Someone posted at the gonegold forums that you get a $50 gift card from Target when you buy a GC and two games at $19.99 or up. I so can't afford it, but it is getting almost impossible for me not to try and score a GC.

Thanks for the heads up on Beach Spikers @ BestBuy...I picked up a copy using some left over store credit. While there, I saw Home Run King for $9.99 as well.

Awesome deal. What did you show Circuit City to get the pricematch? Would they just call Best Buy to confirm the price and give you the pricematch on the spot?

Proper procedure is for Circuit City to call and verify the price and availability. Sometimes, the customer service rep doesn't even bother calling.
