Reminds me of a story my mom told me about when my grandfather ran his own shoe store (this was back in the 60's):

He got a GIGANTIC pair of shoes to put in the window to act as an eyecatching display. One day this giant of a man came in... huge feet, of coure. He mentioned he was unable to buy shoes that fit anywhere. Basically, the shoes on his feet were ancient and were held together by twine and wire... it's somewhat easier to find big shoes today, thanks to basketballl and all, but in the 60's, not so much. So... he let him try on the shoe, which fit perfectly. He got the other one out of the back, sold the pair to the guy, and he went home happy in a real pair of shoes. 🙂

Lmao. That reminds me of the time I baught 12' sandles thinking I'll be ok. Of course I'm down the shore all ready and had no choice.

An hour later I got a nice red blister in between my big toe and...well whatever the other toe is called. Then the sand got in between them and it was just nasty. Just one of those times..

Sweet story. Though for some reason I think America's avg. size foot has grown since then. Havent had time to look at the data....my feet keep getting in the way!!

I wear 14's, usually a wide size, and I agree, it's hard to find shoes.

I can't walk into a shoe store and ask to try my size in whatever shoe I like the looks of....I have to ask "what do you actually HAVE in my size", and pick from that rather limited selection.

Yes! Don't you feel terrible too? Like every body points at you and screams?

I wonder if they have more for midget feet than they do fo large feet.

Oh please I have 13.5. Thats tough. The only place I was ever able to buy any was from Zappos.com. Love the place. In fact I had a pair come in today. Of course if you have to have it tracked in then that wont help you much.
