And yet people want minimum wage higher, so jobs move out of state or to India/China.

I want the f-ing credit card eliminated. States should only be able to borrow under REAL emergencies.

Next you are going to tell me Clay Aiken is gay.

What does that have do to with anything?

Nobody respects Arnold anymore, including the Republican party. He spouts all kinds of threats and then caves on almost every single one of them. He is, however, correct that something must be done to address the fiscal crisis in Ca. Arnold just has a history of going about things the wrong way and pissing everyone off.

He is doing the right thing. He is raising taxes AND cutting programs. Cutting programs is never popular, but if you cant afford it, you cant afford it.

I dont have a problem with the cuts he is proposing to Ca state employees or raising the taxes. I went thru the employee cuts back in the 90's and am willing to take the hit now. What I do have a problem with is his proposal to cut funding for the elderly, disabled, and blind. I can and will make do but these people will be seriously hurt.

edited for atrocious spelling :p

You have no idea how many of us Californians are already here. We run into new couples every week. Just today in Oak Mountain state park.

Oh, but you shouldn't move here. Those twisters are terrible TERRIBLE things. Don't want to randomly get sucked up into the sky do you? No, of course not. You can stay in CA and wallow in your own abomination. It?ll do you good to realize the ramifications of socialist policy.

Well, since we're stereotyping:

I would much rather deal with the issues in California then having to worry about the following:

-Being told that I have a pretty mouth on a daily basis.
-Being made to squeal like a pig.
-Not being able to buy alcohol on certain days of the week. I'm my drunkest on Sundays.
-Fear of meeting the gay guy.
-The gay guy's fear of meeting me.
-Being culturally over-stimulated by the...wait...nevermind.
-Being referred to as an Alabamian. This sounds too close to "Albanian," and with the rampant xenophobia in place there, I'm surprised that there haven't been more lynchings because of this.
-The lynchings

I love painting with a broad brush. You really get all of the colors that way.

Huh? CA contributes more taxes per dollar to poachers like you than any other state in the Union and is the largest economic power in the U.S. to boot, ahead of NY. A budget deficit is easily solved with tax increases, which has historically followed salary increases to compensate for that expense, going on 100+ years of data now. You actually think anyone here is going to buy the BS that you're selling, that people are going to leave the state? rofl, yeah, so many people are leaving CA that every projection has their population increasing at a faster rate than any other state by 2050. Good call.

I hope the freaks from CA don't leave their state, we don't want them to spill over into the rest of the states. Maybe they can switch between CA and New England/NY, that'd be ok.

QFT

If California just got back the amount they paid to the Feds this year PRESTO no budget deficit.

Actually this thread should be title:
"Enormously successful California faces budget crisis because of all the money it is giving to failed states like Missiissippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Nevada, etc"

You get used to the rain. If I wasn't being paid so well to stay here I would head back to OR. :)
