Big Bang Theory

One of the best comedies on TV IMO. Comes on CBS Mondays. Awesome episode last night with the killer robots. Maybe it's just because I've actually been on a robotics team, but the reactions were quintessential. 😀

*Robot demolishes microwave*
Rajesh (gleefully): "What's next?"
*Robot smashes through door, scaring Penny whose out in the hall*

I like it, but the cliche "geek speak" gets annoying sometimes.
I also dislike their technical rants that sound funny to non-technical people.

like the show, but I'm getting sick of the everyone-wants-to-sleep-with-Penny episodes. Don't get me wrong, I'd hit it, but its getting boring/repetitive. Then again, they've already had everyone but Sheldon make a pass, so that whole arc ought to be closed.

one of my must watch programs......best show on the monday night cbs line up IMO.

Personally I am looking forward to the return of Rules of Engagement.

Last night's episode wasn't as good as the Christmas one, but it was still good. I thought How I Met Your Mother was better though 😛.

I don't know if getting rid of the "everyone wants to sleep with penny" aspect is a good thing... I think of it as going on the idea of nerds  the pretty unattainable girl. What I didn't like is how they just dropped the Penny and Leonard thing after about 10 minutes. At Comicon they said how doing that could bring them a ton of new angles, but it was dropped in mere microseconds!

Isn't that kind of the whole foundation of the show?

People like the thought of the chase more. Happens in every show... they finally give the audience a taste by putting them together and they'll break them up soon afterward because it would just be dull being nothing but lovey-dovey. The unattainable thing keeps people guessing / hoping / watching.

I've had a weird history with the show - at first, it was horribly cliche and the actors didn't really know their characters yet so I didn't watch it. About halfway through the season I watched it again and found myself laughing more than before so since then it's been one of my shows. It's nothing that I couldn't drop for another show though...How I Met Your Mother, on the other hand, will be watched in its entirety.

Also, one of my issues with TBBT is that the show doesn't have much of an ongoing storyline - sure, Penny and Leonard and now Leonard and the doctor lady, but other than that, its completely episodic and doesn't develop any sense of loyalty within me.

Yes on both...well. I like all the shows on Monday: How I met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men (which was especially funny last night) and Big Bang Theory.

One of the things that I like about this show is that their nerd/geek/technical rants are actually quite accurate (and this makes it funny to me) which makes me believe that many of the writers are nerds/geeks or have nerd/geek friends.

In the past, when shows had characters speak technical stuff -- most of it was gibberish.
