"Big Bang Theory" actor comes out of the closet

I don't think anyone is happy when someone comes out of the closet because they are giving up their privacy, I personally am happy for whomever is coming out of the closet because I know that can be a huge burden to bear, hiding who you are to your family, friends, and otherwise. A burden that can negatively affect ones life in many ways.

I know I don't try to hide my heterosexuality, and I sure don't consider other people knowing that I am heterosexual any sort of invasion of privacy

People in this country always speculate about what celebrity is dating who anyways, I don't think his homosexuality has anything to do with that.

But coming out of the closet is just exchanging one burden for another. While it might be better for some, it won't be for others. Assuming one or the other for a complete stranger isn't fair.

I think it's a fair assumption that most homosexuals who are open about it don't regret the decision. I also think it's a fair assumption that if Parsons didn't want to be open about it he wouldn't have.

I think it's important that those homosexuals who are not open about it come to the decision whether or not to come out on their own and when they are ready to. It would seem like Jim was ready to make that decision, one surely made harder by his celebrity. I think he should be applauded for his courage, and I hope his honesty inspires others who are ready to make that decision.

I've watched the show a few times. Decided to look at the wiki entry of the guy once, and now all that broadway experience makes sense...

It's also a fair assumption that the fears keeping some people in the closet are completely justified. Both choices take courage, and we should acknowledge that.

As long as he was free to make his own choice, all is well. I despise these jerks who feel entitled to out homosexuals who haven't opted to out themselves.

No wonder. I always used to think how hard it would be to act alongside somebody as smoking hot and gorgeous as Kaley Cuoco. For Parsons, i guess that was not much of a challenge.

which is kind of suspicious
can't say the thought of him being gay ever crossed my mind...

I don't watch every TV show and movie wondering which of the actors/actresses are closet homosexuals.

What about the other three?

Not to be racist, but that homo talked a lot about Jesus in his acceptance speech.

Maybe my sarcasm meter is broken, but homosexual is not a race, it's a sexual preference. I know a fair amount of gay people who go to church and believe in god and jesus and all that jazz. Yes being gay is considered a sin, but I've never met a religous person who doesn't sin and in fact quite a few of them commit more of what they consider 'sins' than some non-religous people I know.

Been my experience too.

Watched the show like twice and was trying to describe Sheldon to someone and I was like, "You know, the gay guy". So obvious.
