Keep on keepin' on with your partisan bickering. You don't at all resemble that of which you proclaim to hate.

Texas is perhaps the most diverse state in the entire US - but all you see is Yes/No/0/1/Red/Blue.
ted cruz ladies and gentlemen, wasn't he hilarious?.. he'll be back for the 10pm show where he gets a little blue. Nah I'm kidding, only his balls are blue.

The mayor of Colorado City, Texas went on a rampage this morning about how people complaining about no water and no power should take care of themselves, and not whine at the government to do things for them. He has since resigned.

Looks like the GOP just found the next plank for the party platform.

Well that’s the issue shorty was pointing out. Some of them don’t know how to light a burner but they now how to light a grill and they are literally bringing them into the house and ending up with carbon monoxide. poisoning.
Using a stove for heat can cause carbon monoxide poisoning too. People get scared and do dumb shit.

Lol .. Lauren Boebert blames the power outages in Texas and other states on the " Green New Deal", which has never been implemented....what a dope.

When gas is $600 per MBTU, I am sure the power companies are damn happy when a wind turbine comes online. More gas power plants wouldn't help, since there isn't enough gas to go around.

Lack of having the nutsack to properly load shed and lack of any real efficiency standards and implementation credits is having far more impact here than any environmental regulation. And you know the whole, not tieing into the national grid to keep the guberment out.

No one owes you or your family anything; nor is it the local governments responsibility to support you during trying times like this! Sink or swim, it’s your choice! The City and County, along with power providers or any other service owes you NOTHING! I’m sick and tired of people looking for a damn hand out! If you don’t have electricity you step up and come up with a game plan to keep your family warm and safe. If you have no water you deal with out and think outside of the box to survive and supply water to your family. If you were sitting at home in the cold because you have no power and are sitting there waiting for someone to come rescue you because your lazy is direct result of your raising! Only the strong will survive and the week will perish. Folks, God Has given us the tools to support ourselves in times like this. This is sadly a product of a socialist government where they feed people to believe that the FEW work and others will become dependent for handouts. Am I sorry that you have been dealing without electricity and water; yes! But I’ll be damned if I’m going to provide for anyone that is capable of doing it themselves! We have lost sight of those in need and those that take advantage of the system and mesh them into one group!! Bottom line, quit crying and looking for a handout! Get off your ass and take care of your own family!

Bottom line - DON’T BE A PART OF A PROBLEM, BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION!

I guess my first question is "What was he being paid to do as mayor?"

It's fucking pathetic, I have had 3 straight nights of power outages. Last night had one that was almost 3 hours right in the middle of the night when it was 9 degrees. About 25 times I have had my power stopped, rolling my ass, yesterday it was almost every other hour my shit would go down for an hour or two or three. Still, I know people who haven't had power for 3 days. I have also been filling jugs of water as I go since some places in the area are losing water now too. Fuck this state.

Good. The federal govt should do nothing for them then with all those blue state tax dollars.

They've always got their hand in the cookie jar tho. Recall all the billings Fed pays out in flood insurance claims bc Texas won't properly zone and designs it's highways to be flood canals.

I think this is the part where we tell them to go rake their snow, and the snow was caused by saudi space lasers, so the Jews don't replace them, or like, something.

...IF the snow is even real. It's probably actor snow. In fact a guy on Facebook saw it last week in a storm in the midwest and it got trucked in from ND to get ...swamp money... and.. The Blacks... something ...? It's about Freedom bitches!

My dad sent out a dumbass meme about frozen wind turbines. I was not about to let that shit slide and immediately corrected him about the fact that wind generation was above forecast.

I try not to get too frustrated by misinformation on facebook, but family texting...oh hell no!

Edit: spelling

Someone took the time to explain electricity in Texas

tldr - deregulation is bad for essential services

Yep, a long one, I just read about half of it....what a wreck.

With all the tech stuff that's already there, data centers, etc...and other tech eyeballing TX...wonder if they'll wise up
