Dude, he doesnt disagree with your point, he just doesnt wanna talk about it anymore, he wants to put her on a trebuchet and fling her out of the fuck out of the dem party. Manchin too.
Personally I think its hard to calculate where that line should be... I mean its obvious they're in big donor pockets, yea. Hostages. Yea. Still.. judges and all that... Dont know man. Dont know.

Where the fuck is the Lincoln Project? Did the dems learn nothing? This is what you have to do to Sinema and Manchin right now... Photoshop them onto those plantations with slaves and what not. Fuck em the fuck up, their home states too. Make em go viral. Again again and again.
Democrats attacking Manchin probably helps him electorally. Democrats simply have zero leverage here. Zero.

I know this is just an op-ed, but I think it's a good one.

the stumbling block...is not the White Citizens Councilor or the Ku Klux Klanner but the White moderate who is more devoted to 'order' than to justice."

Sadly, the needle hasn't moved very far in nearly 60 years :(

? voting Rights, where are they named in the Constitution? I keep looking for "drop boxes" in the actual Constitution.........404 not found. Made up advantages for fraud are not "voting rights"

They're right next to the filibuster.

And obviously more citizens voting is a threat to Republicans. Because their policies (for lack of a better term) suck for almost everyone.

Live debate from the senate on voter rights. Democrats speaking, but is anyone listening? It doesn't appear so. The big news here... is anyone listening and why aren't they?
Lets face it. America is spinning out of control, the Trump era will most likely return, and that seems to be the way the minority of people want it. Yes, the minority having their way over the majority. Its not that republicans are winning from strength, republicans are winning by playing the system. Over the years a system has been devised to allow this to happen JUST AS NOW in republican controlled states a system has been devised to thwart elections. And so today, we have great frustration watching this system operate, controlled by the minority, to prevail as if the majority. In the very near future when targeting elections, the majority of voters will chose the victor, and the state election board will override the victor to replace with the loser. Again, promoting the will of the minority. Why this is happening is simple. Republicans know they can never win as the majority, so they must devise a system where they can win as the minority. And republicans pulled it off.

When November 2022 rolls around, all out war will break out as republican controlled states send the losers, those who lost their election, to Washington as the victor. Then comes 2024 when republicans have already decided the victor.... Donald Trump. Who the majority elected won't matter.

Yeah, be "clever" and when Trump wins and the house and senate is GQP... CELEBRATE! You got what you worked very hard to accomplish.

We all know that Biden got nothing what so ever done, he backed down on every single promise and couldn't accomplish anything at all because he's weak, unlike Trump who accomplished everything.

You got ONE win based on dislike, you will not get another one with a weak president that accomplished jack shit AND made abortion illegal (you see, this is how it works, we know he didn't but 'muricans know he did. Your nation consists mainly of uneducated morons).
Completely false narrative.

It's hilarious how many self-styled progressives here want to replace Manchin with a WV Republican.

EDIT:
Replaced (deleted) tweet, still links to the same article from The Atlantic.

Anyway the vote didn't go through. I think this basically signals the end of the democratic party. Lets wrap it up already. The GOP has been winning for the last decade and with their takeover of electoral systems they have more or less assured that democracy in the US is basically dead. Shame on Manchin. Same on Sinema.

It also could back fire on the republican's. I suspect there will be some court challenges after the elections due to some of the changes the red states have made in their voting laws, giving them the power to decertify/invalidate certain demographical areas votes (basically democrat strong holds) which in the end would be a direct violation of people's voting rights granted by the constitution. Nothing can really be done now because the race hasn't been ran yet, and they haven't tried to apply their new laws yet for them to be challenged in the courts.

Sinema on the Senate floor - She said she would do "whatever" she could to pass the voting rights bills while also opposing changes to the fillibuster. She also said that any changes in the 60 vote majority would increase "divisiveness". Who the fuck is she kidding!? The fillibuster as it is fosters divisiveness, is anti democratic as in it favors the minority. The framers didn't include it in the Constitution. Introduced in the early 19th century as a "technical maneuver". It didn't become popular until much later when the minority used it to try and block anti-lynching laws and the Civil Rights Acts. Is there Deja vu here? when the entire Republican Party chooses the Un American stance of opposing voter rights.

Then you have fucking cowards and hypocrites such as my home state senator Pat Toomey and his "partisan charade" comments . He strongly advocates for maintaining the Senate legislative fillibuster because that ending the fillibuster would "pave" the way for passing "radical" Democratic agenda's like "packing the Supreme Court". Bitch please! ... In 2017 the Republican Majority and McConnell pulled the "nuclear option" by changing long-standing Senate rules to abolish the fillibuster for Supreme Court nominations. At this time Toomey strongly supported abolishing the fillibuster in order to confirm Neil Gorsuch nomination. In fact, Toomeys website at the time includes comments from 2017 advocating to abolish the fillibuster for SC nominations complaining about obstruction by the minority. It appears Toomey and most Republicans position on the issue depends solely on his/her political objectives.

Can’t wait to see the excuses next time the repugicans want to use the nuclear option. But why weren’t the Dems able to obstruct the prior senate? Like they actually acted in good faith and wanted a bipartisan discussion unlike this blantent middle finger to democracy right now.

Sinema is full of shit. She somehow managed to do "whatever" she could to change filibuster rules for raising the debt ceiling but gives us all the middle finger on voting rights.

I will be donating to her primary challenger.

Day one of Republican control of the Senate faced with democrat opposition and threat of filibuster
- Immediate change of the filibuster or temporary rule change of the filibuster. If the following election day shows that they are losing control, they will immediately change the rules back.

Manchin and Sinema revealed who are they are.
I'm fine with disagreements in the party and having it spill out on key votes but the their talking points on the filibuster are shady.

Same here. She's dead to me. Manchin too. They're closet GOP operatives at this point.

Seems you can’t get a registration form due to “supply chain issues”: But that’s ok, they can just register online. Oh wait, Texas doesn’t have online registration? Sucks to be you, I guess.

Obvious lawsuit coming I would think.

"As a senator you should focus on what the people of your state want from you and not get caught up with messy national issues! Lets work together in the spirit of bipartisanship! When you have something that's important to the people of your state then we'll work together to get what you need. Don't worry about the optics. We all know that people have short memories. Just need to make sure that works both ways. We're having a dinner tomorrow with some folks from (list alias for major donors and lobbying firms). Why don't you join us. " -Mitch McConnell

Seems the message for Democratic Party is clear - get 2 additional democrats elected, and you can steamroll the filibuster since only 2 intransigent Democrats are standing in the way.
The second Dems get 52 they should go to town and ignore Manchin and Sinema. They lose relevance entirely. The only reason they are relevant is they give Dems the "majority"

Sinema is of course nuts but I don't think I've seen somebody so intently and eagerly euthanize their own political career.
Well, allegedly she just thinks she's smarter than everyone around her. She's literally the Principal Skinner meme of being out of touch and blaming it on everyone else.
