... the store owner -- one of the people that actually does something to contribute to the economy -- had the audacity to ask a liberal to lower taxes? Blasphemy! Taxes are meant to only be raised, end of story.

Biden - the fail that keeps on failing.

Edit:
Now some bloggers and other liberals will probably tear this storeowner's life apart.

I'm surprised the thread title isn't about the Obama administration taking bribes.

Quid pro quo, Joe. I give you the sandwich, you lower capital gains taxes back to 15%.

Watching the video it seems clear to me that ol' Joe is not joking, and is genuinely perturbed.

anyone in the public eye can't joke around because some dumbass always overreacts.

You mean like, say, a public servant calling a citizen a mildly profane name after a dime-a-dozen tax ribbing?

Or maybe I just misread your comment... maybe classy Joe is the "dumbass" you're referring to, which would make perfect sense.

PC police strikes again. I don't care if he was joking around or not.

We're all shocked, really ;)

Exactly who overreacted? I thought the shopkeeper was joking around and it appeared that Joe didn't appreciate it.

Anyway...if anyone overreacted it was Fox by airing it in the first place and making something out of nothing.

Biden is a douche who has a knack for saying things he really shouldn't. Was the comment all that bad? Eh...not really, but it isn't exactly something a Vice President should be saying to a citizen.

I wouldn't say laughingly calling someone a "smartass" is an insulting profanity worthy of news coverage... my mom calls me a smartass on an almost daily basis.

This thread marks the official beginning of the summer doldrums for political events aka the silly season.

Everytime Biden opens his mouth I get a vision of Obama doing a double handed facepalm.

This was his third gaffe of the day - that we know about.

First he went into the custard store and asked for ice cream. Then he stated that there was no way we were ever going to get back the 8 million jobs we lost. He topped it off with calling the manager a smartass.

He won't be on the 2012 ticket assuming Obama runs again.

Edit: I used to work for a large corporation. The unofficial dictum was widely considered to be; "Never hire anyone smarter than yourself because they'll just make you look bad." I'd say it's a dictum that's been adopted by government as a whole and certainly by Obama in the case of Biden.

Yeah, that's how it appears to me as well.

But then again we don't have the super special truth vision goggles that everyone on the left has.
