Where is the lie? Bush now supports the same sort of orderly withdrawal Obama proposed a long time ago.

Bush is not supporting BHO's "plan" like biden is claiming. Troop numbers lowering depends on ground conditions with Bush's plan. Bush has not adopted BHO's "plan"

Why do you feel the need to refer to Barack Obama as "BHO"?

Because that's his fucking name?

Because it's more mature than McSame, McBush, McShame, etc?

Because if anyone referred to him as BO, you'd still get your feelings hurt and desperately look for hidden innuendo?

Take you pick dipstick.

Well in the spirit of Joe the Plumber who uses his middle name I will call Obama President Hussein

Well, I'm not much of a mind reader, and you're the proponent of not entertaining hypotheticals, so let's not entertain hypotheticals.

They have been repeatedly notified that people view it as an attack on Obama.

So what? If a Repug... err... Republican told everyone that they were offended every time someone used "McBush" and they expected the attacks to cease, they'd be laughed out of here so fast their head would spin. If I was notified by the AT Left that they didn't appreciate my use of "Obama" because it sounded too much like "Osama", I'd tell them to pound sand up their ass and quit being so hypersensitive.

It's not like this place is the womb of sensitivity and consideration. So when one group tells the other group "hey, I don't like how you're referring to my candidate", it's pretty ludicrous, don't you think? In the case of "BHO", just because the left claims negative intent doesn't mean there is negative intent, and shifting to "well, we're upset because they know it bothers us and they keep doing it" is... well, you get the drift. Anyone who is bothered by the use of "BHO" enough to start calling foul every time it's used needs to find a forum that only allows left wing speech. It will be easier to organize the name references.

Not only that, but the people on the boards here are hardly the only ones on the right to use his middle name in this way. It is obvious when listening to McCain campaign surrogates say, when you listen to crowds at McCain rallies chant "vote McCain not Barack Hussein" that they are making that connection too. To think otherwise at this point would require a shocking naivety.

No argument there at all. There is an extremist minority out there obsessed with the fact that he's black, his first name is Barack, his middle name is Hussein, and his last name rhymes with Osama. But again, that's them. If those nutjubs started chanting "Osama Osama Osama", do we need to form a committee so we can determine how to identify the man by his last name in a politically correct manner? Once again, far bigger fish to fry... like the neighbor kid who keeps calling me snot face.

I guess I would be more inclined to jump into these as some people who I hold in particular contempt like CAD seem to be at the forefront of pulling this bullshit.

Perhaps, but in the greater context of Bill Clinton (WJC), Hillary Rodham Clinton (HRC), George W. Bush (GWB), John Kerry (JFK), it's rather routine to refer to candidates by their full initials. The use of initials like "BHO" is nothing new at all; but there's a hypersensitivity to it by some on the left because it is they, perhaps, who are most sensitive to the man's middle name. Initials are used in this place more frequently than the candidates names (McCain being the odd exception; possibly because of the opportunity for McNamecalling), and it's always been that way.

Now, if all they did was refer to him as "Hussein", for which there is no precedence, there would be a lot more credibility to this nonsense, but getting worked up over this is simply nuts.

You're an idiot, Dave. Joe the plumber may have his faults, but using his middle name in lieu of his first name isn't one of them, and it's extremely common. Nonetheless, if you think calling him "President Hussein" will help your cause, by all means. Go for it.
