Pride
This myth involves Lucifer's rebellion against God, very known among Christians. Lucifer was the first angel and a Seraph to be created as the mightiest. It should be noted that this account for the rebellion might come from ancient Canaanite manuscripts that deal with one of their own deities, a being by the name of Shahar. Shahar was thrown out due to the same shortcoming that Lucifer had, pride.

Lucifer was one of God's top angels. One of the highest ranked ones. His right hand man. One day he thought he was better than God so he raged a war against him and lost. So God banished him to hell.

This is not about right or wrong or religious beliefs or manipulation like all the anti-religious (not atheist, notice my terminology) would have you believe. The bible is a backbone to many non-religious works. Look at how it's influenced and referenced by art, literature, etc.

Pay attention to how many times it's mentioned on Jeopardy. It would behoove anyone to have a basic understanding of it.

back in the day, theurgists and magicians were under the assumption that they could call forth spirits (good and bad) and if they were called in the right manner and surrounded in the proper symbols, the spirit would offer their particular assistance. basically they were trying to trap demons in pentagrams and figure out the answers to their questions. a horned beastly apparition teaching you basket weaving would be more funny than informative though.

he was loved very much, he became selfish and self aggrandizing, not good in eyes of father. no father likes to hurt his children, but at times, must.

I think your conclusion must be anecdotal. The apocrophyl texts don't contradict, they just don't enhance the message of salvation or the other historical writings. that's why they were left out.

you guys are pretty much ignorant to what the bible stands for. it isnt a story book, and its not a history book. the things found in the bible are tools of God to lead his believers and followers to salvation. details are left out because they just arent necessary. it doesnt matter why, when, or how lucifer was thrown from heaven. the only thing that matters is that he was. if you have faith, the bible is a guide. if all you can do is mock it, why even bother discussing or poking fun at it? isnt that just a waste of your time? if i had it my way, i would try to work out the kinks in the myths about the bible and what it stands for. unfortunately, some people are simply too close-minded to take a chance at being wrong. edit: im not saying im right...what i mean is your understanding could be wrong. emphasis on could be.

the bible is not a collection of stories to tell the history of the earth. the pentitude lays the foundation for the whole thing, and if you ever actually read it, the parables and meanings in the stories are timeless. it doesnt matter who is reading it; the moral and ethical stances on issues will be valid now and 1000 years from now as human nature is essentially unchanging. flame me if you want, but i am a believer and i try my best as a human and a sinner to follow Gods word, so each of you are my brothers and sisters and if you flame me i wouldnt be mad. if you were willing to listen, i would be willing to tell.

When information that was written (therefore initially deem informative), is now deemed irrelevant by some-one who was not around at the time is withheld, it smacks of censorship.

All the information should be provided, so as others may form their own interpretation of the ideas presented.

Otherwise, one is being spoon fed what the religious leaders want you to see/hear/feel/think.

Why are they (religious leaders) so special that they are the ones that can filter/decide what the masses must know?

i do agree with most of this, and honestly i dont know what to say back to it. i understand your position, but i dont know enough of the history about which books were discarded and why to present an arguement. i will ask my bible teacher to try to get some information.
 
Going by what's in the Bible, Lucifer was the highest ranked angel at the time. Pride was his downfall, he believed himself to be better or more worthy to be worshipped than God; so down he went. So it follows that his prideful ideas never changed, thus would never ask to be forgiven. I think that's how it goes.
 
Satan and Jesus are God's eldest children.
God asked them both to make a plan for the rest of the children.
Satan's plan was to send us all to Earth and force us to obey the law of God, so that all the children of God would be saved/return to God.
Jesus's plan was to send us all to Earth with free will so that we could chose our own destiny.
Some people liked Satan's plan, some liked Jesus's plan. They had a big war and Satan lost and he and all his followers got kicked out.
Now Satan wants to keep as many people as he can from finding their way back to God so he is the sponsor of all evil on Earth.

Something like that.
 
John Milton tells the best story of Lucifer by far in his epic, Paradise Lost. Read that if you want to read something about the fallen angel, although of course Milton's tale isn't actually Biblical.
