Just got my shipment notification and tracking #. Ordered on 6/18, which puts it at about 2.5 weeks.

Still debating whether to keep it though...I almost canceled it because I am not sure I will see significant improvement from my ATI 1900XT.

I am pretty sure you could get someone to buy the card from you and possibly make a little money.

Same here... Mine shipped as well and I am sitting in a 7800GTX, slightly less of a card than your current one... I guess, I dunno... Have to wait and see. I'll prob list my 7800 GTX for $110 shipped and if it sells, i'll probably keep the 8800.

No this card is actually a bit cheaper (for those who got in on the deal) by about $20 + $5 rewardzone (but with free Dell shipping deduct $10 from that) but this card is also clocked higher and I would say presented by a more reputable manufacturer. I haven't compared warranties but this one is lifetime parts/labor I am sure the other one isn't.

I'm avoiding PNY cards like the plague due to their limited 'lifetime' warranty. I currently have an eVGA 7900GT KO that is going back for RMA as soon (if) the BB BFG card shows up. Unlike PNY, the eVGA card has a FULL lifetime warranty and it covers the card even if you have modded it with an aftermarket HSF. PNY covers the card over the products lifetime production cycle, meaning if PNY stops selling the product in a years time, then the card is now out of warranty as far as they are concerned.

My issue is NOT with BB. My issue is with BB.COM. One huge thing to remember for all these Bestbuy.com sales is that there are NO exchanges. If you get a card that goes DEFECTIVE outside of the sale price range but before the 30 day "return" policy expires, you are in for a hassle. If you talk to manager at a Best Buy store and stay calm AND get a decent manager that knows how to provide customer service, you may well get your item (in this case video card) replaced. Then again you may not.

This happened to me with a Nintendo DS that came with a free game from Best Buy.com. I bought the DS on Saturday on the way home from NY but did not open it and play with it until Monday. The sale was over and the DS had a cluster of dead pixels in the center of the screen. The ONLY way that Best buy.com would fix the item for me was a complete return and repurchase (IE no free game since sale was over) or just a refund and walk away from the deal totally. I did get resolution but it took an hour. The store manager took 'pity' on me and gave me a DS and free game out of his stock by doing a manual override and signing this special paperwork. It was NOT an enjoyable experience nor was it worth the extra hassle. I spent long times on hold trying to call Best Buy.com from within the Best Buy store. I talked to 3 different Best Buy store employees, repeating my store, before getting to the store manager. If I remember correctly the ordeal took about an hour and a half. I'm not doing that again.

I agree all this is low probability. What are the chances that you will get your card and it will die outside the sale and before the 30 days is up? Probably low. I present this information to you only to realize the full extent of what "no exchanges" means. I didn't fully understand that clause until I had the above experience. I am not saying "don't buy this card." I am simply giving information to you folks to realize that these Best Buy.com sales have hidden "gotchas" and for me this is a big one and I will not purchase from Best Buy.com any longer. I do purchase from Best Buy something every week or every 2 weeks.

Also I will prepare myself for the onslaught of abusive comments that is sure to follow....Best Buy.com does employ viral marketing agents who will try to water down and confuse my story with all sorts of mumbo jumbo. I do not plan to engage in those people when they start coming out of the woodwork and attacking me as before. Take what I tell you above to heart, and if anyone jumps in here and starts personally insulting me for relating this story, which the mods on this forum will completely ignore, I am not going to respond.

I relay my story and my information because it is important information for you to have and to weigh your purchasing decisions. That is what this community is about.

This has burned me repeatedly, but certain items are only available online. It's an open-shut case of bait-n-switch.

I paid no tax here in Oregon. But the wait is kinda lame. I don't desperately need the card, but I want them to ship it before they cancel it because it still looks like the hottest deal on an 8800gts oc2 640

It's not THAT bad. I have a 7800GTX 512MB right now. If it had died and I was playing on my laptop, now that would be frustrating.

I stuck mine into my old computer, just to make sure it was not going to be DOA before the return limit is up. I was a little disappointed when I ran the Half Life Lost Coast stress test and got only 80FPS at 1920x1200. My old card is an ATI X800XL 256 and it got 61 FPS. I am hoping it is the CPU limitation that is holding it back. My system has a AMD athlon 64 3200 with 1 gig of ram. When the Intel price cuts take place in a couple of weeks, I am going for a core 2 dual or quad(q6600) with 2 gigs of fast ram, that should help things along.

Maybe that's what the hold up is in the first place...

Before anyone else cancels their order like TheSpy007, I'll take it! I'm a Reward Zone member too so I really should have taken this deal.

I got mine last week. Still haven't opened it yet - struggling with whether it is better than my current card.

Ah, I'll probably give in and install it. :)

Another deterrent has been uninstalling the ati drivers and getting my dual monitors back up and running. I'm a little reluctant to mess with a working setup.
