actually, looked it over and looks like I was wrong about the heatsink. I was thinking of the new 8600 w/ thermointelligence. so give in and install, i'm jealous :)

Huh? My post shows up on the sixth page of the thread.

This thread started at 11:03a on 6/18, I saw it and ordered around 4:30p on the same day.

Don't work for Best Buy, just using the forum for what it is intended, finding good deals. :)

i still havent gotten any word from bestbuy about my order shipping. this is starting to irritate me, a lot, but i cant say im not going to wait it out because im saving about $100 on this deal here. Anyone know if this is a backorder that can be extended like backorder extensions are mentioned on bestbuy.com help pages? or has anyone ordered on or after the 21st and received their card?

haha congratulations then. hope you enjoy your new cards.

the fact that people ordering on the 19th are just now shipping is a little daunting for those of us that ordered later in the week. their 800 number is also unable to put up any information about our orders.

keep us posted if anyone hears anything else. being kept in the dark about everything from BB is getting very irritating.

anyways...

I ordered on the 20th, and had a friend order at the beginning of the day that same day who just received shipping notice from BB, so here's hoping that they are still filling orders. Its going to be close .. my CC will cancel the order if the card isn't charged in four days.

i ordered on the 22nd. Yesterday (7/15) I got a call from my credit card company checking to see if a charge to my card that day was fraudulent. This was the Bestbuy charge for the video card. My understanding is that they will not charge my card until the product ships, but this could be wrong. Anyway, the order status page still shows on backorder. They may be shipping without sending out notifications, or they may just be charging my card without shipping.

I used my debit and checking card, and it shows up as a hold, but not as a charge, so id imagine thats why it seems like BB has charged your card. I just called the 800 number again and talked to an online representative that actually speaks english this time, and he said all he could see is that the manufacturer was going to be sending more cards late july / early august, and so i had him extend my backorder another 30 days. i would imagine that those who are just having there cards shipped to them have gotten the last couple left, or repackaged returns or "the bottom of the barrel" as far as the stock goes, or else they would be shipping more cards. i doubt there were that many purchases for this card on the time frame of one week, given all of the other cards that were on sale too, but i guess we'll never know.

urgh... can you tell im anxious to get my card?

if you check all the other usual sites that have sold this card (like newegg, searching google etc...) if looks as if this card has been discontinued. Everyone shows it as out of stock or the pages for this item were removed from the website. I'm hoping that since BB still is allowing customers to buy the card on BB.com that they have a stock coming in from somewhere and that they'll fill our orders with that. I will be PISSED if we waited all this time to find out that BB sold out of the card during this sale, wont be getting any more in, and we wasted a month of our time on their incompetence.

I tried calling a warehouse to check on the stock and stuff, but I could only find the number for the distribution center in NJ, and they couldn't find my order since its not my center to be distributed from. urgh. and no one has the numbers for the centers near me. Maybe theres a center sitting on a nice big stock of this card, and they have to send it out to the other centers and then to us? maybe? this is killing me. i dont mind waiting, but i cant stand poor customer service and not being able to find out the status of a $300+ order beyond the term "backordered".

Lets complain and get free stuff...

if supply chain were that easy, and if bestbuy produced the cards themselves then I could understand but they have said it's backordered and probably their supplier or distributor is at fault for not being able to give bestbuy the info.

it's about knowing who to blame. sometimes it's not best buys fault. backordered is specific enough and if it was discontinued then fault BFG i guess. and they will happily extend your order another 30 days if you ask.

anyways, life is not perfect...just go with the flow.

chickypoo, chill out.

im unhappy with bestbuys inability to be organized enough to do something other than tell me to check the website when i call.

all i ask of them is to relay some information from the warehouse or bfg if they know something. no need to get personal about it.

and youre getting your card, so i dont really wanna hear it

True, that's possible, I just thought that it was strange that they put the hold on yesterday, not earlier when I ordered. Guess I'm just hoping....

despite me not wanting to disappoint your high hopes, my hold always says its either from today or within the past 2 days. they must just keep updating it. or maybe they do things differently with your credit card. but anyways, hopefully we'll still see a graphics card coming to us sometime this week anyway right? i mean, i doubt they would still offer customers to just now submit an order for this card if it was sold out and they werent getting more. they would have to know theyll eventually get more to be able to put up "add to cart / backordered"

hopefully theres a list of first to last order-wise, and those of us buying during this deal week are getting closer and closer to the top of that list. or life just doesnt want us to ever receive this card haha.

i placed an extension on my backorder through a representative on the 800 number when i called this morning, and then got a confirmation email of the extension, so hopefully that works out and they didnt screw up my order in the computer. i wouldnt be surprised by anything right now. its happened before

here's hoping... haha

I got it too. I think at this point I may just let them cancel. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. I do have well over 2 bills worth of bb gc

Two days until my card cancels the transaction. My friend ordered in the AM of the 20th and he got his card today. I ordered in the evening and haven't received ANY emails from BB. I've checked the spam folder ... nothing. I'm gutting it out until the 20th to make it official and then bailing. eVGA gets my business at this point ... 8800GTS KO ACS here I come !!

ditto, i'd rather have the evga as well. but really i'd be happy with anything as long as it lasts.
