I know I am.

I don't know if it is a bug or that I am not playing right, but I can't seem to get promoted anymore or get anymore unlocks. I have had only 4 unlocks (very low I know).... and no matter how much I score, it won't promote me or give me extra unlocks.

My current rank score is 780/500 (makes no sense)... I already hit the next level up but it didn't do anything. The numerator keeps going up and nothing happens.

Anyone have a remedy to this?
 
all the BF games, since things are ranked it requires server side calculation of your points. sometimes this will take away like a day or so. it prevents people from cheating there rank etc..

The only problem I have had is with losing connections to the servers periodically. My points have always been updated within a day (and usually sooner) to reflect the changes. I don't believe you can fix this other than wait for EA to do something - which may take awhile

OS switching is my friend... and can be yours if you are as concerned as I am.

Takes less time than a map load to switch over to my gaming OS.

Yeah, but it's been two days. The first day I played I had a good amount of time to give the game... and all my promotions and unlocks went smoothly. Now, I can't seem to progress. Atop that, some servers I join don't even recognize my stats and just give me a noob loadout.

But from what you say, is this just something that takes time? I cannot understand why it would take so long. Makes me not want to play, really.

Are you playing on ranked servers?

The biggest bug that bothers me is the Titan moving when people are in it. Grenades and whatnot will clip through walls.

All in all, it's not bad. When I saw the demo, I thought the game was absolute crap (Which all of my posts will say), but it's not so bad once you get some unlocks and get on different maps.

Still very buggy, though. No doubt about that one.

seriously, nobody has a gaming image OS they switch to for that reason?

I started doing that since Steam came out.

Sorry OP, ever hear the phrase "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me"? Well, BF2142 is like the eleventy billionth fooling, and people are still falling for it.

how the hell do you get access to the extra weapons and crap (under customize in the troop selection menu) ? ive only played single player...is this feature only avail in multi? i edited my player.con file to make me high rank and exp...so i know that doesnt have anything to do with it :/

You have to play online to get unlocks. I don't know of any way to force them in single player.

Glad I didn't buy it. I got sick of how EA expects 2142 to be a massive revenue stream. There is waaaay less buzz than any previous battlefield game, so I think they might be hurting somewhat.

No. The only time I'd consider doing that is for legacy applications that don't run on XP, believe it or not, there are quite a few. I tried doing the separate Admin account/User account thing for a while but it became to cumbersome and I eventually used the admin account all the way through..
 
alot of people are talking smack and have never played the game is.

ive owned every battlefield except european forces and secret weapons. 2142 while not leaps ahead of the older titles is the best of the bunch and if your gonna let some ad tracking deter you, your missing out on a great game.

the same people bitching about ad tracking in BF are the same people shopping with supermarket member cards on there keychains, which do what? track your spending habits, print out targeted coupons, and you can be sure they are selling your statistics to insurance companies etc..

bf2142 is far less nefarious than dozens of statistic collecting acitivites you participate in EVERY day.

It's not the ad tracking that bothers me (though they are being very ambiguous as to what they are collecting)as much as the fact that it will contain ads. lame. I'd rather play BF2 without the ads.
